The JMG Academy is a sports organisation and training company established by French international football player Jean-Marc Guillou.

Overview

Guillou had established Académie de Sol Beni in Abidjan in 1994 via a partnership with ASEC Mimosas. JMG Academy was established in 2002 following a disagreement between Guillou and ASEC over control of the Academy. [1]

The success of the academy in Abidjan saw JMG expand into other parts of the world. [2]

Locations

The company has nine academies throughout the world: Ivory Coast from 1994; Madagascar from 2000; Thailand from 2005; Mali from 2006; Algeria (in partnership with Paradou AC), Egypt, and Vietnam from 2007; Ghana from 2008.[ citation needed ]

The projects in Egypt, Thailand [3] and Vietnam [4] have all been assisted by Arsenal.

Founded in 1948, they are the most successful side in Ivorian football, having won the Ivorian Premier Division 29 times and the 1998 CAF Champions League. In addition, ASEC's youth academy, known as Académie MimoSifcom, has produced a number of famous players predominantly based in top foreign leagues, including Bonaventure Kalou, Didier Zokora, Emmanuel Eboué, Bakari Koné, Gervinho, Salomon Kalou, Romaric, Boubacar Barry, Didier Ya Konan, Kolo Touré, Yaya Touré and Odilon Kossounou, all of whom have played internationally.

Paradou Athletic Club, known as Paradou AC or simply PAC for short, is an Algerian football club based in Algiers. The club was founded in 1994 by members of the Hydra AC junior team, the club colours are blue and yellow. Their home stadium, Ahmed Fellak Stadium, has a capacity of some 5,000 spectators but the club receives its opponents in Omar Benrabah Stadium. The club is currently playing in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1.
