Jaban is a 1972 Bengali romantic drama film directed by Palash Banerjee. [1] The film stars Amitabh Bacchan, Dharmendra, Biswajit and Shatrughan Sinha. [2] [3]

Plot

Binu and Laxmi love each other. They want to marry but Laxmi's uncle sells her to Janardan, who sends her to a brothel. Binu is framed for theft and sent to prison.

Released in India on 3 March 1972, the film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Aruna Irani, Shatrughan Sinha, Nazir Hussain, Mehmood and Anwar Ali in lead roles. The film is known particularly for its catchy tunes and was a "superhit" at the box office. The film is a remake of a 1966 hit Tamil film Madras to Pondicherry and was an inspiration for the 2004 Marathi movie Navra Maza Navsacha which in turn was remade in Kannada in 2007 as Ekadantha. The Hindu had reported that Rajiv Gandhi was offered the lead role by Mehmood but he had turned it down.

Guddi is a 1971 Indian Hindi drama film directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and written by Gulzar. It starred Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Utpal Dutt. It is Bachchan's career-making film in which she plays a schoolgirl who has a crush on and is obsessed with the actor Dharmendra, who plays himself. She earned a Filmfare nomination as Best Actress, the only nomination for the film. Dutt also has a starring role. Many Bollywood actors like Rajesh Khanna, Naveen Nischol, Asrani, Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, Om Prakash and Pran gave guest appearances as themselves. According to Boxofficeindia.com, the film became a "big city hit" and Hit" business everywhere else. It was later remade in Tamil as Cinema Paithiyam (1975) starring Jayachitra and Jayasankar.

Chupke Chupke (transl. Quietly) is a 1975 Indian Hindi-language comedy film. A remake of the Bengali film Chhadmabeshi, it was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. It stars Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, Jaya Bachchan, Om Prakash, Usha Kiran, David Abraham Cheulkar, Asrani and Keshto Mukherjee. The music was composed by S.D. Burman. This film is highly remembered for Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan's comic act which came in the same year when the all-time blockbuster Sholay and Deewaar were released.

Kotwal Saab is a 1977 Bollywood drama action film directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. An Amiya Arts production, it was produced by Pawan Kumar and had story by Bimal Dutt, with dialogue by Rahi Masoom Reza. The music director and lyricist was Ravindra Jain.
