Jacek Malinowski (born May 20, 1959), is a Polish professor and mathematical logician, the editor-in-chief of Studia Logica , [1] [2] Head of the Department of Logic and Cognitive Science at the Polish Academy of Science, Warsaw, Poland, [3] and Head of the Section of Logical Semiotics at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, Poland. [4]

From 2000 to 2001 Malinowski was a fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the Institute of Philosophy, Humboldt University in Berlin. [5] From 2002 to 2003 he was at the Institute of Computer Science, University of Leipzig with a Marie Curie Fellowship. [6] From 2004 to 2005 he was a fellow of the Netherlands Institute of Advanced Studies - NIAS. [7]

The Pontifical University of John Paul II is an academic institution located in Kraków, Poland, that offers graduate degrees in theology, philosophy, and church history. It derived from the theology faculty of Jagiellonian University established in 1397. The theology faculty was expelled from the university by Communist authorities in 1954. Remaining under the supervision of the Vatican, the faculty received the honorific title of "Pontifical" in 1974 and was established as an Academy of Theology by Pope John Paul II in 1981 before becoming the Pontifical University of John Paul II in 2009.

Polish Righteous Among the Nations Israeli Honorific for Polish citizens who saved Jews during the Holocaust

The citizens of Poland have the world's highest count of individuals who have been recognized by Yad Vashem of Jerusalem as the Polish Righteous Among the Nations, for saving Jews from extermination during the Holocaust in World War II. There are 7,177 Polish men and women recognized as Righteous Among the Nations, over a quarter of the 27,921 recognized by Yad Vashem in total. The list of Righteous is not comprehensive and it is estimated that hundreds of thousands of Poles concealed and aided hundreds of thousands of their Polish-Jewish neighbors. Many of these initiatives were carried out by individuals, but there also existed organized networks of Polish resistance which were dedicated to aiding Jews – most notably, the Żegota organization.

Jerzy Kłoczowski Polish historian

Jerzy Kazimierz Kłoczowski was a Polish historian, professor at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, and former member of the Polish Senate. During World War II, Kłoczowski was a soldier of the Home Army and participated in the Warsaw Uprising, where he was seriously injured and lost his right hand. On leaving the military hospital in April 1945, he went to Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and then to Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, where he earned a degree and a Ph.D. (1950). Member of the anti-communist Solidarity movement – after the fall of communism in Poland, Kłoczowski was elected Senator and member of the Commission for Foreign Affairs of the Senate, as well as the representative of the Polish Parliament at the Council of Europe.

He was visiting professor, College de France (1991), Wellcome Professor at Johns Hopkins (1994–95), and distinguished professor at the Institute of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology, University of Pune (2005–10).
