Jackie Thrasher (born September 23,1957) was a member of the Arizona house of representatives from 2007 to 2009. [2] She was elected to the house in November 2006. [3] In 2008,she ran for re-election,winning the Democrat primary,while losing in the general election to the fellow incumbent James Weiers and Doug Quelland. [4] She attempted to regain her seat in 2010,winning the Democrat primary,but losing in the general election to Jim Weiers and Kimberly Yee. [5] After redistricting,in 2012 she attempted to return to the house in District 20,winning the Democrat primary,but losing to Paul Boyer and Carl Seel. [6]
The 2006 congressional elections in Arizona were elections for Arizona's delegation to the United States House of Representatives,which occurred along with congressional elections nationwide on November 7,2006. Arizona has eight seats,as apportioned during the 2000 United States Census. Prior to the election,Republicans held six of the eight seats and Democrats held two. In the 8th district,Republican Congressman Jim Kolbe retired,leaving an open seat. Following the elections,Democrats gained two seats at the expense of the Republicans,who lost two.

The 2020 United States Senate elections were held on November 3,2020,with the 33 class 2 seats of the Senate contested in regular elections. Of these,21 were held by Republicans,and 12 by Democrats. The winners were elected to six-year terms from January 3,2021,to January 3,2027. Two special elections for seats held by Republicans were also held in conjunction with the general elections:one in Arizona,to fill the vacancy created by John McCain's death in 2018;and one in Georgia,following Johnny Isakson's resignation in 2019. These elections ran concurrently with the 2020 United States presidential election in which incumbent Republican president Donald Trump lost to Democratic nominee Joe Biden.
The 2020 United States elections were held on Tuesday,November 3,2020. Democratic presidential nominee,former vice president Joe Biden,defeated incumbent Republican president Donald Trump in the presidential election. Despite losing seats in the House of Representatives,Democrats retained control of the House and gained control of the Senate. As a result,the Democrats successfully obtained a government trifecta,the first time since the elections in 2008 that the party gained unified control of Congress and the presidency. With Trump losing his bid for re-election,he became the first defeated incumbent president to have overseen his party lose the presidency and control of both the House and the Senate since Herbert Hoover in 1932. This was the first time since 1980 that either chamber of Congress flipped partisan control in a presidential year,and the first time Democrats did so since 1948.

However,he lost to Steve Montenegro and Jerry Weiers in the Republican primary.

Ted Downing is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives from January 2003 until January 2007. In 2000 he ran for the State House of Representatives for District 13. Along with Gabrielle Giffords,he was one of the two candidates to win the Democratic primary. However,in the general election,while Giffords won,Downing came in third,losing to Carol Somers. In November 2002,he ran again for the house,this time in District 28 following redistricting,and won. He won re-election to the House in 2004. In 2006,Downing decided not to seek re-election to the House,and chose to run for the State Senate. However,he lost in the Democrat primary to Paula Aboud,who ran unopposed in the general election. He ran again in the 2010 election for the Senate seat from District 28,this time as an independent,finishing a distant third in the election.
Sylvia Laughter was an American politician who was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives from January 1999 until January 2005. She was the first Navajo woman to serve in the Arizona legislature,as well as the first and only politically independent legislator to serve in the state legislature since Arizona's statehood in 1912.
Bill Arnold is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives from January 2003 until January 2005. He was elected to the House in November 2002,representing the newly aligned District 12,after redistricting. In 2004,Arnold ran for re-election,but lost in the Republican primary to Jerry Weiers.

He ran for re-election in 2004 along with Cheryl Chase,but was defeated in the Democrat primary by Pete Rios. In 2008 he ran again for the House in District 23,and won the Democrat primary along with Barbara McGuire. However,while McGuire won,Bustamante lost in the general election to Frank Pratt. He again ran in 2010,and won the Democrat primary,along with McGuire,but in the general election they both lost to Pratt and John Fillmore. He ran once again in 2012,this time in District 8,after redistricting. He and Emily Verdugo won the Democrat primary,but they both lost in the general election,to Pratt and T. J. Shope.
Kathi Foster is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives. She served in the House from January 1995 through January 2003,serving district 14. Not eligible to run for the House in 2002,due to Arizona term limit laws,she ran for the State Senate in the newly redistricted District 13,but lost in the Democrat primary to Richard Miranda. She ran again for the Senate in 2004,this time in District 12,but lost in the general election to incumbent Robert Blendu.
Carlos Avelar is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives. He served in the House from January 1999 through January 2003,serving district 23. After redistricting in 2002,he ran for re-election,this time in District 16,but lost in the Democrat primary to Leah Landrum Taylor and Ben Miranda. He again ran in 2006 in District,but once more lost in the Democrat primary,this time to Cloves Campbell Jr. and Ben Miranda.
