Jackson Davis (born March 19, 1979) is an American actor. He is best known for portraying the character "Jonas" from the lonelygirl15 videos series, its spinoff KateModern , [2] and its sequel series, LG15: The Resistance . [3] [4] He was born in Gloversville, New York, but was raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he attended Ephrata High School. He starred in the 2009 film You, Only Better..., a movie about life coaches. [5] [6]

After graduation from high school, Davis worked a series of odd jobs before enlisting in the United States Navy. Davis was unhappy in the Navy, and afterwards he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. [7]

Davis was cast as the third major actor on lonelygirl15 in November 2006. [6] His character Jonas was described as the rich alpha-dog contrast to the penniless beta-dog Daniel, played by Yousef Abu-Taleb. [8] In addition to his work on lonelygirl15, Davis, a member of Playhouse West, [9] has appeared in an episode of CSI: NY , and played a prominent role as a drug dealer in an episode of CSI that originally aired on April 1, 2010. He has appeared in numerous independent features including his starring role in Strange Angel, and over 15 independent shorts, including Latter Day Fake. [7] [9]

Davis appeared in a Raul Midon music video, "Pick Somebody Up," in 2007. [10] In September 2008, he spent a week hosting at the ACME Comedy Theatre. [11] [12] The following summer, he appeared in a series of web videos parodying celebrity Proposition 8 videos. [13] [14]

Davis has also played the role of Donovan in the 2016 film The Wrong Car. [15] [16]

Davis also appeared in a Bud Light television advertisement. [17]

In 2016, Davis starred in the feature film Deserted opposite Mischa Barton, as her brother Robin. The film is a psychological thriller about a group of friends on a road trip to a music festival in "Death Valley - which results in getting them hopelessly lost in the most stunning, but unforgiving topographical terrain on the planet". [18] Davis teamed up with Barton again for the upcoming horror film, The Basement .[ citation needed ]

In the summer of 2020, Davis starred in Before the Fire , a pandemic thriller that garnered wide attention due to its similarity to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis. [19] [20]

lonelygirl15 is an American science fiction thriller web series created by Miles Beckett, Mesh Flinders, Greg Goodfried, and Amanda Goodfried. It was independently released on YouTube from June 16, 2006, to August 1, 2008, and was also briefly released on Revver and Myspace. The series revolves around the initially mundane life of homeschooled 16-year-old Bree Avery, who uses the username Lonelygirl15 online. She goes on the run with her friend Daniel after her parents' mysterious religion is revealed to be The Order, a blood-harvesting operation that wants her "trait positive" blood. The series is presented through video blogs, or vlogs, originally recorded solely from Bree's bedroom.

The show is produced by EQAL in partnership with Bebo. It ended on 28 June 2008, slightly less than a year following its original release.

LG15: The Resistance is a web television series produced by EQAL that took place within the LG15 Universe. The series was first announced on July 4, 2008, via the official behind-the-scenes LG15 blog, Inside. It premiered on September 16, 2008, at the New York Television Festival, and was first uploaded for public viewing on September 20, 2008. Daily content was provided in the form of video blogs, images, text blogs, and other information posted daily from the characters at LG15.com. On the following Saturday, all of the content from the previous week was compiled into one 6- to 10-minute episode to end that week's "chapter". Each week of the show featured music from a different artist.

Songify the News is an American musical web series popularized by Brooklyn musician Michael Gregory, and later his band The Gregory Brothers. The Gregory Brothers digitally manipulated recorded voices of politicians, news anchors and political pundits to conform to a melody, making the figures appear to sing. The group achieved mainstream success with their "Bed Intruder Song" video which became the most watched YouTube video of 2010.

LG15: Outbreak is a social show produced by lonelygirl15 fans in 2010, under the name of Tempest Pictures, and presented by EQAL on LG15.com. Due to the downturn in the economy, EQAL's show LG15: The Resistance was put on hiatus, and instead, the producers decided to open a contest for the fans. The contest allowed fans to submit pilot episodes and trailers of spin-off shows based on the Lonelygirl15 mythology, where the selected pilot would become an official LG15 Franchise show. The winner of the first season of "LG15: The Show Is Yours" was LG15: The Last, and LG15: Outbreak was declared the winner of the second season. At the time of the first contest, allowing a crowd-sourced project to take over production responsibilities was seen as "unprecedented".

Paula Newsome is an American actress. She starred in a number of short-lived television series, most notable the ABC police drama Women's Murder Club (2007–08), and had recurring roles on NYPD Blue, NCIS, Barry, and Chicago Med. In 2021, Newsome began playing the leading role of Maxine "Max" Roby in the CBS crime drama series CSI: Vegas.
