Jacob Turner Hopkins (born March 4, 2002) [1] [2] is an American actor who voiced Gumball Watterson in the animated series The Amazing World of Gumball from 2014 to 2017.

Early life

Hopkins was born in San Francisco, California, to actors Gerald and Debra (née Spagnoli) Hopkins. [3] [4] He has an older brother named Gerad (b. 1998) [5] [6] who is a musician, singer, and songwriter. [7] [8]

Career

Hopkins is known for playing the role of Alexander Drew in True Blood , Chad Kremp in The Goldbergs,[ citation needed ] and for being the voice of Gumball in The Amazing World of Gumball , after replacing Logan Grove in season 3. [9] During season 5, Hopkins was replaced in the new role of Gumball by Nicolas Cantu, as Hopkins' voice had changed due to puberty. As of 2021, he made his anime debut as Fushi from To Your Eternity , while also voicing Shun Kamiya from Tribe Nine . [10]

As of to date, he currently lends his voice in English dubs for Funimation, Bang Zoom!, Studiopolis, and Sound Cadence Studios. [11] [12]

Personal life

Hopkins has been a celebrity ambassador of The Jonathan Foundation, an organization that provides assistance in the special needs education system in Northridge, California, since 2013. [13]

To Your Eternity is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshitoki Ōima. It has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Magazine since November 2016, with individual chapters collected by Kodansha into twenty-two tankōbon volumes as of June 2024. The story is about an immortal being, Fushi, who takes on multiple forms and freely utilizes their respective natural abilities at will, including that of an abandoned white-haired boy and his white wolf, in order to further evolve and stimulate as it learns what it means to be truly human over the decades and centuries.

Fushi (<i>To Your Eternity</i>) Fictional character from To Your Eternity

Fushi is the protagonist of To Your Eternity, a manga series written and illustrated by Yoshitoki Ōima. Initially named "Orb", Fushi is an immortal creature sent by a mysterious entity labeled as "the Beholder" to Earth. He takes multiple forms when first visiting Earth and after befriending a young dying villager, Fushi copies his appearance as a response to his last request of never forgetting him. As the manga progresses, the Orb travels across the planet and is given the name Fushi by a young villager named March while other characters presented in the narrative help him interact with others, forming bonds with the people he meets while becoming more human-like.
