Professional wrestling career

In early 2010, Molzhon signed a contract with WWE. He worked as Jacob Novak for WWE's developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling. [1]

Novak made his WWE debut on for the fourth season of NXT on December 7, 2010. [4] He was mentored by Dolph Ziggler and began to alienate his pro by flirting with his kayfabe girlfriend Vickie Guerrero. Novak was also defeated by Brodus Clay. Due to this, after Ziggler won a competition where the pro who wins could switch his rookie. Ziggler exclaimed that he never liked Novak, and he exchanged him for Byron Saxton. Chris Masters became his new pro, but Novak was voted off NXT that same night.

Novak returned in the fifth season, Redemption, where rookies from previous seasons were issued new pros. The victor would be able to compete in the sixth season and be able to choose their own pros. Novak was paired up with JTG. Novak began hassling William Regal, and JTG prevented the two from getting into a fight. On May 1 at Extreme Rules Novak was a Lumberjack in the WWE Tag Team Championship Match. Novak finally faced Regal on the May 10, 2011 edition of NXT Redemption, which Regal won by way of submission. On the May 17 edition of NXT, Novak was voted off of the competition. [4] [5]

On June 13, 2011, Novak was released from his WWE contract after a hip injury. [6]
