Jacob Peterson (born 19 July 1999) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player for the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Peterson was drafted in the fifth round, 132nd overall, by the Stars in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
Peterson made his SHL debut playing for Frölunda HC in 2017, playing in nine games in the 2017–18 season. [1]
In his fourth year with Frölunda HC in 2019–20, Peterson played his first full season in the SHL, recording career bests with five goals and 16 points through 43 games before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19. On 1 April 2020, Peterson opted to leave Frölunda HC, agreeing to a two-year contract with fellow SHL club, Färjestad BK. [2]
On 28 April 2021, Peterson was signed by draft club, the Dallas Stars, to a two-year, entry-level contract. [3]
During the 2022–23 season at the NHL trade deadline, on 3 March 2023, the Stars traded Peterson to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Scott Reedy. [4] In June 2023, he signed re-signed with the Sharks on a one-year contract. [5]

The Swedish Hockey League is a professional ice hockey league, and the highest division in the Swedish ice hockey system. The league currently consists of 14 teams. The league was founded in 1975, and while Swedish ice hockey champions have been crowned through various formats since 1922, the title and the Le Mat Trophy have been awarded to the winner of the SHL playoffs since the league's inaugural 1975–76 season.
Joel Per Lundqvist is a Swedish former professional ice hockey centre. He spent the majority of his career with Frölunda HC of Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and also played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Dallas Stars from 2006 to 2009. He holds the record for most appearances in the SHL. His identical twin brother is former NHL goaltender Henrik Lundqvist.
