Jahangir Hussain Mir [1] is an Indian politician from the Indian National Congress,in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He was the Deputy Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council from 2015 to 2017. [2] He won a by-election in the Poonch Haveli Assembly constituency of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in 2007. [3] [4] [5]

Poonch or Punch is a district of the Jammu division of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir in the disputed Kashmir region. With headquarters in the town of Poonch,it is bounded by the Line of Control on three sides. The 1947-48 war between India and Pakistan divided the earlier district into two parts.
