James C. Albury is an American television personality and director of the Kika Silva Pla Planetarium at Santa Fe College.
Albury was born in Denver, Colorado but grew up in Miami, Florida. At age 14, he started volunteering at the Miami Museum of Science's planetarium. He stayed with the museum until he was 22 years old. At 21, Albury started as a recruit in University of Florida's Astronomy Program. He earned a bachelor's degree plus one year of master's work before being hired at the University in the Office of Academic Technology. [1]
In October 2011, Albury became the co-host of PBS television series Star Gazers . [2] In 2020, he launched and became host of the astronomy series, The Sky Above Us .
Star Gazers is a short astronomy show on American public television previously hosted by Jack Horkheimer, executive director of the Miami Space Transit Planetarium. After his death in 2010, a series of guest astronomers hosted until 2011, when Dean Regas, James Albury, and Marlene Hidalgo became permanent co-hosts. In 2019, Dean Regas and James Albury stepped down from the program and were replaced by Trace Dominguez. On the weekly program, the host informs the viewer of significant astronomical events for the upcoming week, including key constellations, stars and planets, lunar eclipses and conjunctions, as well as historical and scientific information about these events.

The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, formerly known as the Miami Science Museum or Miami Science Museum and Space Transit Planetarium, is a science museum, planetarium, and aquarium located in Miami, Florida, United States. The museum originally opened its Coconut Grove location across from Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in 1960. It relocated to Maurice A. Ferré Park in the downtown area adjacent to the Perez Art Museum Miami in 2017 after the closing of the Coconut Grove location in 2015.

This is the first full season after Jack Horkheimer's death. The series tried out new hosts and settled on Dean Regas and James Albury to be co-hosts on the show. On October 3, 2011, the title of the series was changed to Star Gazers. The show's name change was accompanied by the launch of a new Star Gazers website for the series; while, the older Jack Horkheimer: Star Gazer website continued to be maintained and updated as well.
The Santa Fe College Kika Silva Pla Planetarium is a 34-foot in diameter, domed theater in Gainesville, Florida. The planetarium seats 60 people and uses two projection systems. An In-Space-System (ISS) 1C-3K digital projection system by RSA Cosmos and an optical-mechanical Chronos Space Simulator manufactured by Goto.

Dean Regas is an American astronomer, public speaker, author, and television host. He is most widely known as the cohost of the syndicated television show Star Gazers, which airs daily on more than 100 PBS stations around the world. He was the Outreach Astronomer for the Cincinnati Observatory from 2000 to 2023 where he specialized in astronomy education and public speaking. Regas is the author of three books Facts From Space!, 100 Things to See in the Night Sky, and 100 Things to See in the Southern Night Sky.
The Sky Above Us with James Albury is a short American astronomy show hosted by James Albury, director of the Kika Silva Pla Planetarium at Santa Fe College. Each episode is approximately five minutes in length; and, a new episode is released every two or three weeks. Prior to hosting this series, Albury had spent eight years co-hosting the PBS astronomy series, Star Gazers. The series is produced at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida.
