James C. Moffat

James C. Moffatt was a Brisbane chemist and Sunshine Coast pastoralist. In 1882, Moffat acquired 20 acres of coastal land at Caloundra, north of Brisbane. A year later, he built a holiday house on the headland which now bears his name. [1] [2] Moffat Beach is also named after him.

It stands on Canberra Terrace near downtown Caloundra. The lighthouse was active from 1968 to 1992. It has a unique design resembling an airport control tower, the only surviving example of a lighthouse of this design in Australia.

Caloundra Airport Airport in Queensland, Australia

Caloundra Airport is a public general aviation airport located in Caloundra West serving the Sunshine Coast in the Australian state of Queensland. The airport is located on a 130 ha site, of which 74 ha is occupied by the current facilities. Further growth and expansion of the airport is limited by urban encroachment as much of the surrounding land has been developed into residential estates. The airport has been managed by Sunshine Coast Airports, a business unit of the Sunshine Coast Regional Council which is also responsible for the operations of the Sunshine Coast Airport at Maroochydore since 2008.

The Sunshine Coast Light Rail is a proposed light rail system for the Sunshine Coast region of Queensland, Australia. The light rail system will link Maroochydore with Caloundra via Mooloolaba and Kawana. The system is currently undergoing feasibility studies and is planned to bring a frequent, high-quality light rail service that will meet the region's predicted growth.
