James R. Carr is an American politician from Kentucky who was a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from 2005 to 2007. Carr was first elected in 2004,defeating incumbent representative John W. Adams in the Democratic primary election. [1] Carr switched to the Republican party in October 2005 and was defeated for reelection by Democrat John Tilley. [2]

When Republicans gained control of the state senate in 2000,Williams was chosen as President of the Senate,and held that post continuously until his resignation in November 2012. In September 2010,he announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for governor in the 2011 gubernatorial election. On May 17,2011,Williams secured the Republican nomination over Tea Party movement-backed Phil Moffet. However,he lost the general election by twenty points to incumbent Democratic Governor Steve Beshear. In November 2012,Williams resigned his Senate seat to accept a circuit court judgeship.

Melvin Henley is an American politician who served in the Kentucky House of Representatives from the 5th district from 2005 to 2013. He is a graduate of Murray State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. Henley was first elected to the house in 2004,defeating Democratic incumbent Buddy Buckingham. Henley subsequently changed his party affiliation to the Democratic party on September 14,2007. He retired from the house in 2012 and was succeeded by Republican Kenny Imes.
