James ("Jim") Roberts (born 13 August 1948) is an Australian sports and recreation advocate, former association football player and former coach of the Australian national futsal team.
Born in Sydney, Roberts played association football for Sydney Prague and Bankstown City Football Club and then Canberra City FC and other clubs in Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory after he moved there in 1973.
In 1987, Roberts and Charles Perkins AO devised the first Aboriginal Futsal Cup with Canada and Roberts coached the first Australian Aboriginal indoor soccer select team. [1] Roberts went on to coach the Australian national futsal team from 1992 until 2000. Under his stewardship, the team qualified for and competed at the 1992 FIFA Futsal World Championship in Hong Kong, [2] the 1996 FIFA Futsal World Championship in Spain, [3] and the 2000 FIFA Futsal World Championship in Guatemala. [4] At the time of his retirement from coaching in 2000, he was one of only four national team coaches in history to have participated in three FIFA futsal world cups. The national team played 66 games under his leadership. [5] [6]
In 1985, Roberts became President of ACT Sports House, a position that he held until 2003. Under his presidency, ACT Sports House became ACTSport, the peak industry body for sport in the Australian Capital Territory. [7] In 2011 Roberts was once again president of ACTSport, [8] and was still in the position in September 2013. [9]
In 2000, Roberts was awarded the Australian Sports Medal for his contribution to the development of sport and recreation in the Australian Capital Territory, his community service as President of ACT Sports House (later ACTSport) and for services to futsal. [10] Also in 2000, he was presented with an achievement award by the CBFS (Brazilian Futsal Confederation) for his contribution to the development of futsal throughout the world. In 2010 Roberts was inducted into the ACT Sport Hall of Fame and has been inducted into the ACT Football Federation Hall of Fame. [11]
His son PJ is a former professional footballer and TV pundit in Asia.
Futsal is a football-based game played on a hardcourt like a basketball court, smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side football and indoor football.

John Aloisi is an Australian former soccer player and current head coach of A-League club Western United. In a professional career that spanned 20 seasons, with league totals of 459 games and 127 goals, he was the first Australian ever to play and score in La Liga, the Premier League and Serie A.
Kevin Vincent Muscat is an Australian former association football player and the current manager of Chinese Super League club Shanghai Port. As a player, he played as a defender, and represented the Australia national team at international level winning 46 caps and scoring 10 goals between 1994 and 2006.
Stephen Christopher Corica is an Australian soccer manager and former player. He was most recently the manager of Australian club Sydney FC. In December 2023, Corica was announced as the inaugural manager of A-League expansion club Auckland FC.
Bradley Clyde is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s who, at the peak of his playing career was widely acknowledged as the best lock in the game. He represented both New South Wales, and played for the Australian national side, and played his club football in Australia for the Canberra Raiders and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, and in England for Leeds Rhinos.

Her last stint as a player was for Western Sydney Wanderers of the Australian W-League. Garriock played 130 matches for the Australian women's national team, appearing at two Olympic football tournaments and three FIFA Women's World Cups.
Don Furner was an Australian rugby league footballer and coach. As a player, he represented Queensland on nine occasions and also toured with the 1956–57 Kangaroos.
Graeme Dell was employed by the Football Association's as England national futsal team coach and has been in that position since the FA started its futsal programme in 2003, when he led the first ever England futsal team in the UEFA Futsal Championships. Dell led England in 51 international futsal matches, including the 2006 UEFA Futsal Championship and the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup, before he stepped down on 25 March 2008.

Norman John "Johnny" Hawke was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1940s, and 1950s. An Australian international and New South Wales interstate representative back, he played club football in the ACT as well as in Sydney for St. George Dragons, whom he captained and won a premiership with in 1949.
Carrie Ann Graf is an Australian basketball coach. She competed in the WNBL as a player starting during 1983–1989, after which she attended RMIT. Graf has coached teams in the WNBL, WNBA and Australia's national team, and has been honoured for her contribution to basketball coaching.
