The 2000 FIFA Futsal World Championship was the fourth FIFA Futsal World Championship, the quadrennial international futsal championship contested by the men's national teams of the member associations of FIFA. It was held between 18 November and 3 December 2000 in Guatemala. It was the first FIFA tournament held in the country.
Spain won the tournament, defeating Brazil in the final. They ended a streak of three straight championships by Brazil and also became the only nation other than the South Americans to win the title at that time until Portugal in 2021.

The 2004 FIFA Futsal World Championship was the fifth FIFA Futsal World Championship, the quadrennial international futsal championship contested by the men's national teams of the member associations of FIFA. It was held between 21 November and 5 December 2004 in Taiwan. It was the first FIFA tournament held in the country and was the last to feature 16 teams.
The Domo Polideportivo de la CDAG, known commonly as Domo de la Zona 13, or simply as Domo, is a multi-purpose arena in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Built to host the 2000 FIFA Futsal World Championship, it is located in the Zone 13 of the Guatemalan capital, in the location of the Guatemalan bullring, and has a capacity of 7,500 seats.

The 2015 Women's Futsal World Tournament was the sixth edition of the Women's Futsal World Tournament, the premier world championship for women's national futsal teams. The venue was Domo Polideportivo de la CDAG in Guatemala City. The competition was won by Brazil, winner of all the editions disputed until then. Iran's Niloufar Ardalan notably defied a travel ban to take part in the 2015 tournament after her husband did not approve of her leaving Iran.

It marked the first FIFA tournament ever hosted by Lithuania and the third Futsal World Cup hosted in Europe; the others being 1989 in the Netherlands and 1996 in Spain.
The 2021 CONCACAF Futsal Championship was the 7th edition of the CONCACAF Futsal Championship, the quadrennial international futsal championship organised by CONCACAF for the men's national teams of the North, Central American and Caribbean region. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held in Guatemala City, Guatemala between 1–10 May 2020. However, on 19 March 2020, CONCACAF announced the decision to postpone the tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 11 February 2021, CONCACAF confirmed Guatemala as host and that the dates are going to be May 3–9, 2021.

The tournament is currently held in Uzbekistan. It is the first FIFA tournament ever hosted by Uzbekistan and a Central Asian country. The tournament returns to its usual four-year cycle after the previous tournament was delayed for a year to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
