There are 47 countries and territories that are permitted to compete for qualification into the tournament.

The Futsal Confederations Cup is a futsal tournament for national teams. It is contested by the winners of each of the six FIFA confederation championships, the winner of the FIFA Futsal World Cup and the host country. It is not to be confused with the Continental Futsal Championship, a friendly tournament hosted annually by Thailand.
Foolad Mahan Sepahan Isfahan Futsal Club was an Iranian Futsal club based in Isfahan, Iran. It was part of Foolad Mahan Sepahan Sports Club. Foolad Mahan hosted the first AFC champions league tournament during March 4–12, 2010.

The 2014 AFC U-16 Championship was the 16th edition of the biennial international youth football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for players aged 16 and below. Thailand were approved as hosts of the competition on 25 April 2013. The tournament was held from 6 to 20 September 2014, with the top four teams qualifying for the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.

The tournament was held in Uzbekistan between 10–21 February 2016. A total of 16 teams played in the tournament.
The AFC Women's Futsal Asian Cup, previously the AFC Women's Futsal Championship, is the premier national women's futsal competition of the Asian Football Confederation nations. Iran have won both editions held to date.
The futsal competition at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 7 to 18 October. At Tecnópolis and the CeNARD, the first one located in Villa Martelli, and the second one in Buenos Aires. There are two tournaments, one for boys and one for girls.

The 2024 AFC Futsal Asian Cup was the 17th edition of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup, the biennial international futsal championship organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's national teams of Asia. The tournament was held in Thailand between 17 and 28 April.
