The 2005 AFC Futsal Championship was held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 22 May to 4 June 2005.
The 2007 AFC Futsal Championship was held in Osaka and Amagasaki, Japan from 13 to 19 May 2007.
Futsal at the 2007 Asian Indoor Games was held in Macau, China from 26 October to 3 November 2007.
The 2010 AFC Futsal Club Championship was the 1st AFC Futsal Club Championship. It was held in Isfahan, Iran between March 4 and March 12, 2010. the event was scheduled to take place between July 4–12, 2009, but had to be postponed due to the political situation in Iran at the time.

The 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup was the seventh FIFA Futsal World Cup, the quadrennial international futsal championship contested by the men's national teams of the member associations of FIFA. It took place from 1 to 18 November 2012 in Thailand. An extra four teams were competing at this World Cup. This was the first FIFA men's tournament held in Southeast Asia since the Malaysia 1997 FIFA World Youth Championship, and was the first FIFA men's tournament held in the country, having hosted the 2004 FIFA U-19 Women's World Championship.
