The Ukraine national futsal team represents Ukraine in international futsal competitions such as the FIFA Futsal World Cup and the European Championships and is controlled by the Football Federation of Ukraine.

Contents

History

In the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup qualification stage Ukraine finished top of Group 10 ahead of Israel, Moldova and Bulgaria. In the knockout stage of the qualification process, they advanced after beating Hungary 6:5 on aggregate (3:1 home, 3:4 away). The last stage of the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup took place from 30 September 2008 till 19 October 2008 in Rio, Brazil and was the largest ever edition of the tournament at the time containing 20 teams. Ukraine has history in the tournament, having a fourth-place finish in 1996 and a top eight finish in 2004, 2008 and 2012.

Introduced in 1979 for men's football tournaments, and after applied in women's football and futsal, the coefficients are calculated by UEFA, who administer football within Europe, as well as Armenia, Cyprus, Israel and the Asian parts of some transcontinental countries.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Russia national futsal team</span> National sports team

The Russian national futsal team is the national futsal team of Russia. The team is controlled by the Russian Football Union and affiliats with UEFA. Because of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, FIFA and Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) suspended all Russian teams from FIFA and UEFA competitions, whether national representative teams or club teams.

The Albanian national futsal team represents Albania in international futsal competitions and is controlled by the Albanian Football Association. The team debuted in the 2005 UEFA Futsal Championship qualifiers. They won the first match 8–6 against England, and then they drew to Cyprus, but failed to qualify because of goal difference. In the 2007 UEFA Futsal Championship qualifiers, Albania made a bad performance by losing all of its matches and finishing last in its group. In the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup qualifiers, Albania was drawn against Slovenia, Greece, and Malta. They ended up in second place winning two matches and losing only one. In the end, Slovenia topped the group and advanced to the two-legged play-offs.

The 2022 UEFA Futsal Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Futsal Euro 2022, was the 12th edition of the UEFA Futsal Championship, the international futsal championship organised by UEFA for the men's national teams of Europe. It was hosted for the first time in the Netherlands.
