Lotto Arena is an arena in Antwerp, Belgium. It has a seating capacity for 8,050 people for concerts and 5,218 for sporting events. The arena opened on 10 March 2007 after nine months of construction. [1] It is located in the district of Merksem, adjacent to the Sportpaleis.
The Antwerp Giants basketball club uses the arena as its home venue. It also hosts the European Open, a tennis tournament part of the ATP Tour 250 series.
The Antwerps Sportpaleis, also called Sportpaleis Antwerpen, Sportpaleis Merksem or simply the Sportpaleis, is an arena in Antwerp, Belgium. It is a multipurpose hall where concerts, sporting events, festivals and fairs are organized. The arena was built for sport, especially track cycling, but there is now little sport there, an exception being the Diamond Games tennis.
Merksem is a district of the municipality and city of Antwerp in the Flemish Region of Belgium. It has 44,808 inhabitants as of 2021.
Antwerp Giants, named Telenet Giants Antwerp for sponsorship reasons, is a Belgian professional basketball club based in Antwerp. Their home arena is Lotto Arena. The club plays in the BNXT League, the highest tier of Belgian basketball. The club was created from the merger of Sobabee and Racing Mechelen. Then named Racing Basket Antwerpen, it was renamed Antwerp Giants in 2005.
"L.I.L.Y." is the second single of Kate Ryan's 4th album Free. This single was first presented in the Alive concert which was on 6 October 2007 in the Lotto Arena in Antwerp. A video for the song was shot in Berlin during January, directed by Peter Van Eyndt. It was only released in Belgium, Bulgaria and Poland.
Sporthal Arena is an indoor arena in Deurne, Antwerp, Belgium. Built it 1966, it has a capacity for 2,100 people, 1,196 of which are seating capacity. An 800,000 Euro renovation works took place between April 2008-February 2009. The basketball club Antwerp Diamond Giants used the arena before moving to Lotto Arena, and the club junior squad as well as practice sessions of the senior squad still take place at the arena.
The Players Tour Championship 2011/2012 – Event 9 was a professional minor-ranking snooker tournament that took place between 10 and 13 November 2011 at the Lotto Arena in Antwerp, Belgium.
The 10th IKF World Korfball Championship were held in the Belgian cities of Ghent, Tielen and Antwerp in 2015. Ghent and Tielen hosted the first and second round matches, whilst the placing matches and finals were all held in the Lotto Arena in Antwerp.
