The Wales national futsal team is controlled by the Football Association of Wales, the governing body for futsal in Wales and represents the country in international futsal competitions, such as the Futsal World Cup and the European Championships. [2]
The creation of the Wales futsal team was first announced in late 2011, an FAW Futsal squad was named for a one-day training camp and fixture in Cardiff on 18 December at Cardiff University, to begin the FAW's preparations for the UEFA Futsal Championship qualification in January 2013. [3] A second training camp was held on 11 March 2012 and Wales played the England Development squad on 15 April. [4] England won the game 8–6 in Deeside, Flintshire.
On 6 and 7 July, Wales played two friendlies against AC Omonia's futsal team, the current Cypriot champions. [5] [6] Wales played their first official international match against Andorra in September 2012 and took part in qualification for the first time in January 2013 in the UEFA Futsal Championship qualifiers.

The Football Association of Wales is the governing body of association football and futsal in Wales, and controls the Wales national football team, its corresponding women's team, as well as the Wales national futsal team. It is a member of FIFA, UEFA and the IFAB.

The 2012/13 FAW Women's Cup was the 21st season of Wales' national association football knock-out competition. It saw 28 clubs apply for entry, three less than previous season. In the same final as last year, Cardiff City Ladies defended their title by winning 3–1 over Cardiff Met. Ladies.
The 2013–14 FAW Welsh Cup was the 127th season of the annual knockout tournament for competitive football teams in Wales. The tournament commenced on 16 August 2013, and ran until the final in May 2014. The final itself featured Aberystwyth Town for the fourth time, the last being in 2009, and The New Saints for the seventh time, the last being in 2012. They had never faced each other in a final before. The final was won 3−2 by The New Saints, who made the Double and qualified to the first qualifying round of the 2014–15 UEFA Europa League. Aberystwyth Town qualified to the first qualifying round of the 2014–15 UEFA Europa League as the cup runner-up.
