Ukraine competed at the Youth Olympic Games for the first time in 2010 in Singapore, and has participated in every Games since then. [1]

Argentina participated at the Olympic Games for the first time in 1900. It has participated at all subsequent Summer Olympics except in 1904, 1912, and the nation boycotted the Moscow Olympics due to its support for the United States in 1980. It participated at the Winter Olympics in 1928, 1948, 1952 and continuously since 1960.
The Youth Olympic Games (YOG) is an international multi-sport event for athletes between 15 and 18 years old, organized by the International Olympic Committee. The games are held every four years in staggered summer and winter events consistent with the current Olympic Games format, though in reverse order with the Olympic Winter Games held in leap years instead of the Summer Olympic Games. The first summer version was held in Singapore from 14 to 26 August 2010 while the first winter version was held in Innsbruck, Austria from 13 to 22 January 2012.
The 2018 Summer Youth Olympics, officially known as the III Summer Youth Olympic Games, and commonly known as Buenos Aires 2018, were an international sports, cultural, and educational event held from 6 to 18 October 2018 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. They were the first Youth Olympic Games held outside of Eurasia, and the first Summer Games held outside of Asia and the first to be held in the Western and Southern hemispheres. It was the second Olympic Games held in South America after the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Poznań 2018 was a bid by the city of Poznań and the Polish Olympic Committee to host the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. Poznań withdrew their bid on October 9, 2012 for financial reasons.
Six bids were made for the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. The IOC selected three of the bids as candidate cities. On July 4, 2013, Buenos Aires was elected as host city.

Archery has been included in the Summer Youth Olympics since their inauguration. As with archery at the Summer Olympics, only the recurve is competed. Unlike the Summer Olympic competition, a mixed team event is competed, in which competitors are paired across national boundaries to create evenly matched multinational teams, as part of the Youth Olympic Games' spirit of cooperation.

Malaysia competed at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 6 October to 18 October 2018. The chef-de-mission of the contingent was former two-time Olympian archer Cheng Chu Sian. Malaysia won its first gold medal at an Olympic event, having previously won silver and bronze medals.

Weightlifting has featured as a sport at the Youth Olympic Summer Games since its first edition in 2010 in Singapore. The Youth Olympic Games are a multi-sport event and the games are held every four years just like the Olympic Games. Eleven weightlifting events were contested at the 2010 and 2014 games; for the 2018 games in Buenos Aires that number raised by 12.
Wang Kuan-hung, also known as Eddie Wang, is a Taiwanese swimmer who specializes in butterfly and freestyle events.
Maryna Kolesnykova is a female Ukrainian swimmer. She won one bronze medal at the inaugural European Games where she was third in 200 metre backstroke. She also competed in the 100 metre backstroke where she finished 4th as well as 50 metre backstroke where she reached semifinals and finished 10th.
