Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) can enter a maximum of 1 team of 2 athletes. As hosts, Argentina was given a team to compete, causing a reduction to the number of teams qualified from the Americas. The remaining 11 teams were to be decided at the 2018 Acrobatics World Championships. [1] Host Argentina declined the quota while no nation from Oceania competed. The United States declined the quota, and thus the two places were reallocated to Asia and Europe.
To be eligible to participate at the Youth Olympics athletes must have been born between 1 January 2000 and 31 December 2003. [1]

Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) could enter a maximum of two athletes, one per each gender. As hosts, Argentina wase given the maximum quota should they not have qualified normally and two spots, one for each gender, were decided by the tripartite commission; however, only one was given. These quotas caused a reduction from the continental quota depending on which continent the chosen nation was from. The remaining quotas were determined through five continental qualifiers. [1]
To be eligible to participate at the Youth Olympics male athletes must have been born between 1 January 2001 and 31 December 2002 while female athletes must have been born between 1 January 2003 and 31 December 2003. Also athletes who have participated in FIG senior competitions or multisport games may not participate in the Youth Olympic Games [1]

Sergei "Seryoga" Sergeevich Naidin is a Russian artistic gymnast. He is the 2016 European Junior Pommel horse champion. On the national level, he is a two-time the 2016, 2018 Russian Junior National All-around champion.

Rowing at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 7 to 10 October. The events took place at the Puerto Madero in Buenos Aires, Argentina, being raced unusual to rowing events in a short sprint over a 500 metre 4 lane course, under the Puente de la Mujer. Racing started with a time trial of 900m + turn to allocate crews to heats. There were two rounds of heats with crews being awarded points based on their ranking in each heat and the accumulated points from the two heats determining progression to the quarter-finals of the singles and semi-finals of the pairs.
Boxing at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 14 to 18 October at the Oceania Pavilion in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Kitazono Takeru is a Japanese male artistic gymnast. At the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he won five gold medals in the all-around, floor, rings, parallel bars, and horizontal bar competitions. He was the first artistic gymnast ever to achieve such a feat in a single Youth Olympic Games.

Diogo Brajão Soares is a Brazilian artistic gymnast and a member of the national team. He participated in the 2018 Youth Olympic Games and the 2019 Junior World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. He represented Brazil at the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games.
Shinnosuke Oka is a Japanese artistic gymnast. He is the 2024 Olympic all-around champion, as well as a member of the Japanese team, which also won gold at 2024 games. He also won the Olympic title on the horizontal bar and the bronze medal on the parallel bars.
Yin Dehang is a Chinese artistic gymnast. He won three medals at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In the pommel horse event he won the gold medal and in the parallel bars event he won the silver medal. He also won the bronze medal in the rings. In the floor exercise he did not qualify to compete in the final.
