Benjamin "Benny" Wizani (born 26 June 2001) [1] is an Austrian trampoline gymnast. He is the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics bronze medalist in individual trampoline.
Wizani grew up in Tulln an der Donau and started trampoline gymnastics at age two. When he was five years old, he started training at WAT Brigittenau under coach Wilfried Wöber. [1] [2] [3]
Wizani competed at his first World Age Group Competition in 2015 and placed seventh in the individual final. [4] He then placed 66th as an individual at the 2017 World Age Group Competitions, [5] and he placed 53rd in the 2018 edition. [6] At the 2018 Junior European Championships, he placed 14th in the individual semi-final. [7]
Wizani won a bronze medal in the individual event at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. [3] [8] In April 2019, after missing three months due to a foot injury, he made his senior debut at the Minsk World Cup and finished 28th. [9] He then placed 55th at the 2019 Khabarovsk World Cup and 89th at the Valladolid World Cup. [10] [11] He competed at the 2019 World Championships and placed 12th in the synchronized trampoline qualification round with Niklas Fröschl. [12]
Wizani placed seventh in synchro with Martin Spatt at the 2020 Baku World Cup. [13] He fractured his right arm in 2020 and returned to training three months before the 2021 European Championships where he finished 10th. [1] He placed 29th at the 2021 Brescia World Cup and failed to qualify for the Tokyo Olympic Games. [14] At the 2021 World Championships, he finished 11th in the synchro qualification round with Niklas Fröschl. [15]
Wizani placed 27th in the individual competition at the 2022 Baku World Cup. [16] Then at the Rimini World Cup, he placed 24th as an individual and ninth with Niklas Fröschl in synchro. [17] Wizani and Fröschl qualified for the synchro final at the 2022 World Championships and finished eighth. [18] Wizani and Fröschl finished sixth at the 2023 Santarem World Cup. [19] They then placed 16th at the Coimbra World Cup, and Wizani placed 11th as an individual. [20] He finished fifth at both the Palm Beach and Varna World Cups. [21] [22]
At the 2023 World Championships, Wizani qualified for the individual final in second place and thus earned a berth for the 2024 Summer Olympics. [23] This marked the first time an Austrian trampolinist qualified for the individual final at the Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships. [24] He ultimately placed sixth in the final, which was the best-ever finish for an Austrian trampolinist at the World Championships. [25] [26]
Wizani will represent Austria at the 2024 Summer Olympics and will be the first Austrian male trampolinist to compete at an Olympic Games. [27] He decided to compete at the Olympic Games despite an ACL injury in March. [28] [29]
Wizani was voted as Gymnast of the Year by the Austrian Gymnastics Federation in 2016, 2018, and 2023. [30] [31]
Trampolining or trampoline gymnastics is a competitive Olympic sport in which athletes perform acrobatics while bouncing on a trampoline. In competition, these can include simple jumps in the straight, pike, tuck, or straddle position to more complex combinations of forward and/or backward somersaults and twists. Scoring is based on the difficulty and on the total seconds spent in the air. Points are deducted for bad form and horizontal displacement from the center of the bed.

Dmitri Vladimir "Dima" Poliaroush is a Belarusian gymnastics coach and former competitive trampolinist. He is a six-time World Champion, seven-time European Champion, and twenty-time World Cup winner. He competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics and the 2004 Summer Olympics, finishing fifth and fourth respectively. Poliaroush was the first man to perform a “Double Full In – Double Full Out” on trampoline and the skill is named after him. He is the only person who has been an active trampolinist and trampoline coach at the Olympic Games.
Elisa Hämmerle is an Austrian artistic gymnast. She represented Austria at the 2020 Summer Olympics and finished sixty-sixth in the all-around during the qualification round. She also represented Austria at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics and finished twelfth in the all-around final. She has won four medals on the FIG World Cup circuit, one silver and three bronze. At the 2020 European Championships, she became the first Austrian gymnast to qualify for an event final at the European Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships when she finished eighth on the balance beam
Bryony Kate Frances Page is a British individual trampoline gymnast. She won the gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris in individual trampoline. She is the 2021 and 2023 women's individual trampoline world champion, and part of the British team that won team gold at the 2013 world championships, and all-around team gold in 2022.
Léa Labrousse is a French trampolinist. She is a two-time World silver medalist and the 2019 European Games individual champion. She became the first French woman to win gold at the European Trampoline Championships with her synchro partner Marine Jurbert. She represented France at the 2020 Summer Olympics and will compete at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Dylan Matthew Schmidt is a New Zealand trampoline gymnast. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics and finished in seventh place. He was New Zealand's first athlete to compete in trampoline at the Olympic Games. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, he won the bronze medal and became New Zealand's first Olympic medallist in any gymnastics discipline. He became the individual trampoline world champion at the 2022 Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships and is New Zealand's first world champion in men's trampoline. He won the gold medal in the individual event at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics.
Ivan Uladzimiravich Litvinovich is a Belarusian trampoline gymnast. He represented Belarus at the 2020 Summer Olympics and won the gold medal in the men's trampoline individual event. He again won the gold medal in the individual event at the 2024 Summer Olympics, as an Individual Neutral Athlete, making him the first male trampoline athlete ever to win two gold medals in the Olympics and the only AIN to win gold. He is a two-time World champion and the 2021 European champion in the individual team event, and he is the 2019 World individual silver medalist.
Dafne Carolina Navarro Loza is a Mexican trampoline gymnast. She is the 2018 and 2022 World synchro bronze medalist and was Mexico's first World medalist in trampoline. As an individual, she became Mexico's first Pan American Games medalist in trampoline when she won the silver medal at the 2015 Pan American Games, and she won the bronze medal at the 2019 Pan American Games. She competed at the 2020 Olympic Games, becoming the first trampoline gymnast to represent Mexico at the Olympics.
Malak Hamza is an Egyptian trampoline gymnast. She competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics and has qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Madaline Davidson is a New Zealand trampoline gymnast. She competed at the 2020 Olympic Games and finished tenth in the qualification, making her the second reserve for the final. She is the first female trampolinist to represent New Zealand at the Olympics.
Pierre Gouzou is a French trampoline gymnast. He is a 2023 World and a two-time European team champion. He is a two-time individual European silver medalist and a three-time World synchro bronze medalist. He will represent France at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Florian Langenegger is a Swiss artistic gymnast. He competed at the 2022 and 2023 World Championships and represented Switzerland at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Hu Yicheng is a Chinese trampoline gymnast. She is a three-time World champion and the 2022 Asian Games individual silver medalist. She will represent China at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Seljan Mahsudova is an Azerbaijani trampoline gymnast. She will represent Azerbaijan at the 2024 Summer Olympics and will be the country's first Olympian in trampoline.
