Qualification

Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) can enter a maximum of 5 competitors, 3 males and 2 females with a maximum of 1 competitor in each weight category. As hosts, Argentina was given three quotas (2 boys and 1 girl) to compete and a further 10 quotas, 7 males and 3 females were given to the Tripartite Commission. The remaining 69 places are to be decided through qualification events, namely the 2017 Women's Youth World Championship and continental qualification events.^[1]

To be eligible to participate at the Youth Olympics athletes must have been born between 1 January 2000 and 31 December 2001. Furthermore, all athletes must have participated at an AIBA Women's Youth World Championships or at a Youth Continental Championship.^[1]

The boxing tournaments at the 2012 Olympic Games in London were held from 28 July to 12 August at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre.

Uzbekistan competed at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics, in Nanjing, China from 16 August to 28 August 2014.

The futsal competition at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 7 to 18 October. At Tecnópolis and the CeNARD, the first one located in Villa Martelli, and the second one in Buenos Aires. There are two tournaments, one for boys and one for girls.

Egypt participated with a total of 68 athletes at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Olympians have to be aged 14–18 in order to participate.

Poland participated at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 6 October to 18 October 2018.

Tunisia participated at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 6 October to 18 October 2018.

At the 2019 European Games in Minsk, matches across fifteen weight categories in boxing were contested between 21 and 30 June 2019, of which ten were allocated to men and five were allocated to women.

Caroline Sara Dubois is a British professional boxer. She has been Youth Olympic champion, World Youth champion and four-times European Youth champion. She is the younger sister of heavyweight boxer, Daniel Dubois.

Esra Yıldız is a Turkish amateur boxer who won a bronze medal in the lightweight division at the 2016 European Championships. She was named as a competitor for the 2020 Summer Olympics.
