James Thomas Fishback (born January 1, 1995) is an American Investor and the co-founder/Chief Investment Officer of Azoria Partners, an investment management firm. [1]

Career

Fishback worked at Greenlight Capital, a hedge fund led by David Einhorn. [2] [3] In 2019, he founded Incubate Debate, a non-profit educational organization. [4] [5] [6] [7]

Fishback currently serves as the Chief Investment Officer of Azoria Partners, an investment management firm he co-founded with Asaf H. Abramovich in 2023. [8] He has written for the Free Press [9] and has made appearances on Fox News. [10] He is a regular keynote speaker at conferences and universities across the United States. [11] [12]

Controversy

In May 2024, Fishback sued his former employer, Greenlight Capital for defamation in a row over his job title. [3] Fishback claimed he worked as “head of macro” at the hedge fund. [3] He claimed that in the two-and-a-half years he worked at the hedge fund, he got promoted twice; first from research analyst to trader and then to "head of macro", having generated a total $100 million in profits for the firm during his work with them. [13] But Greenlight Capital claimed that position never existed. [1]
