James (Jamie) Alvord III (born February 17, 1990) is an American male sprint track cyclist, representing Edge Cycling Team. Alvord is a 10-time American National Champion. He is the reigning American National Champion in sprint, [1] Time Trial [2] and Team sprint. [3]
Alvord is married to 27-time National Champion Mandy Marquardt. The pair met in 2010 and started dating in 2012 when they both raced for Edge Cycling Team [4]
Alvord competed in the 2021–22 UCI Track Cycling season and 2022–23 UCI Track Cycling season.
Alvord represented the United States at the Track Pan American Continental Championships, in San Juan, Argentina. He finished 5th in the Men's Team Sprint [5] and 8th in the Men's 1 km Time Trial. [5]
Alvord took up cycling at a young age, following in the path of his father Jim, who was a competitive cyclist during the 1980s. [6]
In 2010, Alvord finished third in the Men's Tandem Road Race, Blind/Visually Impaired at the USA Cycling 2010 Paralympic Road Nationals [7] in Bend, Oregon. He was the captain for stoker Steve Baskis. [8] In 2013, a month after breaking his scapula and three ribs, Alvord and teammate Leandro Bottasso of Argentina won Tandemonium. [9]
Alvord won his first national title, in the Team Sprint, along with David Espinoza and James Mellen, at the 2016 United States National Track Championships. [10] That same year, he competed at the Milton International Challenge p/b Lexus, a UCI CL1 event in Milton, Ontario, Canada.
In 2021, Alvord won the Sprint, Time Trial and Team Sprint titles at his home track, [11] the Valley Preferred Cycling Center in Breinigsville, Pennsylvania. He added a UCI victory in the class 1 event, the T-Town Summer Games – Festival of Speed in the summer of 2021.
Alvord successfully defended his titles in the Sprint, Time Trial and Team Sprint events at the 2022 United States National Track Championships. [12]

Mandy Marquardt is an American female Sprint track cyclist, representing the United States and Team Novo Nordisk, the world's first-all diabetes professional cycling team. Marquardt was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 16. Marquardt is an 27-time U.S. National Champion, 4-time U.S. National Record Holder in the Standing 500m Time Trial, Standing 1 km Time Trial, Team Sprint (2-rider) and Team Sprint (3-rider).
Andrea Hannos is a former Canadian professional road and track racing cyclist who first entered sport in track and field, specializing in the long and triple jump. She attended high school at Little Flower Academy in Vancouver, BC, and graduated in 1991 after winning the triple jump event at the BC high school track and field provincial championships. She then went on to compete in track and field for the Kajaks Track & Field Club and the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds while earning a Bachelor of Science in Cell Biology. She placed ninth in the triple jump at the 1995 Canadian Track and Field Championships in Montreal. Later, as a collegiate cyclist, she attended Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, obtaining a Master of Science degree in biology.
