Jan Tauer (born 26 August 1983) is a German former professional footballer who played as a defender.

Career

Tauer was born in Düsseldorf.

He joined Djurgårdens IF from Eintracht Braunschweig at the start of the 2007 season, [1] and made his Allsvenskan debut for Djurgården against IF Brommapojkarna. He scored his first goal for Djurgården against IFK Göteborg when IFK midfielder Niclas Alexandersson tried to clear the ball and hit Tauer in the back, which made the ball to bounce into the goal. [2] Tauer left Djurgården after the 2009 season [3] and signed on 21 December 2009 for VfL Osnabrück. [4]

Personal life

In summer 2017 Tauer returned to Germany from Sweden and joined lower league club DJK Sparta Bilk. [5]

AIK had a sensational season, winning 14 league matches by the odd goal, to claim their first domestic title since 1998, also winning the cup final against IFK Göteborg, also title rivals in the league, which was decided in a straight run-in between the two candidates. There, AIK turned around a 1–0 deficit to win 2–1 and claim the title, more than enough, considering a draw had landed the title as well. Key players in the title success included goalkeeper Daniel Örlund, conceding just 20 goals all season, plus new defensive general Jos Hooiveld, midfielder Jorge Ortiz and striker Iván Obolo, all of them departing following the title success.

The 2017 season was Djurgårdens IF's 117th in existence, their 62nd season in Allsvenskan and their 17th consecutive season in the league. They were competing in Allsvenskan and Svenska Cupen and qualified for the 2018–19 UEFA Europa League.

The 2019 season was Djurgårdens IF's 119th in existence, their 64th season in Allsvenskan and their 19th consecutive season in the league. They competed in Allsvenskan and the 2018–19 and 2019–20 editions of the Svenska Cupen.
