Janice Waddy (born 1958) is a former netball player from New Zealand, who represented the national team on six occasions and won a gold medal at the 1979 Netball World Championships.
Janice Waddy (née Henderson) was born on 31 March 1958. She went to school at St Margaret's College in Christchurch, in the Canterbury region of the South Island of New Zealand. Between 1976 and 1978 she obtained a diploma in education, specialising in physical education, from the Christchurch Teachers College, which was subsequently merged into the University of Canterbury. Waddy played netball for Canterbury and in 1979 was chosen to be part of the New Zealand national netball team, known as the Silver Ferns. Playing as Janice Henderson, she took part in the 1979 World Championships, held in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, which resulted in a three-way tie for first place between, New Zealand, Australia and the hosts. She was selected again in 1981 for series against England and Australia. She was an adaptable player who played in several positions. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
Waddy later moved to Australia. From 2001 to 2008 she worked for the Australian Sports Commission in Canberra, before joining the commission's parent organization, the Department of Health, working on the department's involvement with major sporting events. She later moved to the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development, to work on a capacity-building project for Papua New Guinea. [2]
Anna Catherine Stanley is a New Zealand netballer, who captained the national team, to win the 2003 Netball World Championships in Jamaica.
The New Zealand national netball team, commonly known as the Silver Ferns, represent New Zealand in international netball. The team take their nickname from the Silver Tree Fern, which is an emblem for many New Zealand sports teams. The Silver Ferns were formed in 1938 as a representative New Zealand team to tour Australia. To date, they have been one of the most dominant national netball teams in the world, along with Australia, and have a winning record against most other netball nations. The Silver Ferns are current world champions and ranked second in the INF World Rankings, behind Australia.
Donna Wilkins is a New Zealand representative in netball and basketball. She married Southland farmer Mike Wilkins on 17 March 2007. Wilkins returned to the Southern Steel for the 2012 season, after a short stint with the Canterbury Tactix in 2011.
Julie Seymour is a New Zealand netball coach, former international netball player and former representative middle distance runner. Seymour played for the New Zealand national netball team, the Silver Ferns, in 92 test matches spanning 16 years. During her international career she has competed at three Netball World Championships and two Commonwealth Games. She also captained the Silver Ferns in 2002 and again during the last two years of her international career. After two years in the ANZ Championship, Seymour announced her retirement from competitive netball in 2009. She subsequently took on a coaching role at the Canterbury Tactix as assistant coach.
Katrina Rore is a New Zealand international netball player. Rore is the current vice-captain of the New Zealand national netball team, the Silver Ferns, and plays for the Central Pulse in the ANZ Championship. Rore signed to the New South Wales swifts in the suncorp super netball league in the latter half of the 2018–2019 season following the netball World Cup.
Anna Kennedy is a New Zealand netball player. Kennedy plays in the ANZ Championship for the Canterbury Tactix. In 2009, she was named as a member of the Silver Ferns squad. She was included in the FastNet Ferns the following year, and was called back into the Silver Ferns for 2011 as cover for injured vice-captain Temepara George. She made the team for the 2011 Netball World Championships after Cathrine Latu was ruled ineligible.

Joan Frances Harnett-Kindley is a New Zealand former netball player and real estate agent. She began playing for Canterbury's Sacred Hart team in 1960 and was first selected to play for the country's national squad in 1963. Harnett played in three editions of the World Netball Championships in 1963, 1967 and 1971 and was named player of the tournament of the 1967 competition that New Zealand won. She stopped playing internationally in 1971 and retired three years later. Harnett played in 116 international matches and was captain for 45 of them. took up a career in the real estate industry from 1972 to about 2007, serving as a member of various committees and was an inaugural member of the Real Estate Authority. Harnett is an inductee of the New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame and was named a Sporting Legend of Canterbury in 2007.
Oonah Fay Shannahan is a New Zealand former netball player. She captained the New Zealand team in their second Test match, in 1948 against Australia.
Judith Ann Blair is a former New Zealand netball player. She played 19 international matches for the New Zealand team between 1960 and 1967, including captaining the side to victory at the 1967 World Netball Championships.
Betty Marian Steffensen is a former New Zealand netball player, coach, umpire and administrator. She played one Test match for the New Zealand team on their 1960 tour to Australia. She later served as president of Manawatu Netball for 21 years and was vice-president of Netball New Zealand for 12 years. Steffensen has been the patron of Netball Manawatu since 2016.
Joan Hodson is a former international netball player for New Zealand who was part of New Zealand's winning team at the 1987 World Netball Championships. She represented her country on 35 occasions and went on the qualify as an international netball umpire.
Leigh Gibbs was a New Zealand netball player who played for the national team on 61 occasions and was captain for the 1987 World Netball Championships when New Zealand won the gold medal. She was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (ONZM) in 2001.
