<span class="mw-page-title-main">John F. Street</span> Former mayor of Philadelphia

John Franklin Street is an American politician and lawyer who served as the 97th Mayor of the City of Philadelphia. He was first elected to a term beginning on January 3, 2000, and was re-elected to a second term beginning in 2004. He is a Democrat and became mayor after having served 19 years in the Philadelphia City Council, including seven years as its president, before resigning as required under the Philadelphia City Charter in order to run for mayor. He followed Ed Rendell as mayor, assuming the post on January 3, 2000. Street was Philadelphia's second black mayor.

Robert A. Brady is an American politician who served as the U.S. representative for Pennsylvania's 1st congressional district from 1998 to 2019. He was the ranking Democrat and Chairman of the United States House Committee on House Administration from 2007 to 2019. He has served as Chairman of the Philadelphia Democratic Party since 1986 and is a registered lobbyist for NBC Universal and Independence Blue Cross.

Anna Cibotti Verna was the President of the Philadelphia City Council on which she served from 1975 to 2012, as the representative of the Second District, which encompasses most of South Philadelphia as well as most of the western end of Center City. She was a Democrat.

Thomas W. Blackwell IV was a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 190th District from 2005 to 2008. He lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was a father of three, one daughter and two sons. Blackwell was commissioner, of the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority; worked for the International Longshoremen's Association as a longshoreman, business agent and eventual president of Local 1332. He lost the 2008 primary election and was succeeded by fellow Democrat Vanessa Brown. He was the son of Lucien E. Blackwell and Gloria L. Blackwell. He was also the step-son of Jannie Blackwell. He died on August 22, 2017, at age 58.

Kenyatta J. Johnson is an American politician who has served as president of the Philadelphia City Council since 2024. A member of the Democratic Party, he has represented the second district on the Council since 2012. His district includes parts of Center City, South, and Southwest Philadelphia.

Carl R. Greene was the executive director of the Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA), the fourth largest public housing authority in the nation. On his departure, PHA provided approximately 14,000 units of affordable housing for 80,000 Philadelphia residents and managed the city’s Housing Choice Voucher program. Before heading PHA, Greene held a similar position with the Detroit Housing Commission. He also held senior positions with housing authorities in Atlanta and Washington, DC.

Marian Benton Tasco is an American politician who served on the Philadelphia City Council. A member of the Democratic Party, Tasco represented Philadelphia's ninth district for twenty-eight years.
