Janzen Will Madsen, better known online as Jandel, is a New Zealand Roblox developer known for making or managing games such as Grow a Garden , A Dusty Trip, and Wacky Wizards. His group owns at least part of Grow a Garden, as seen on his website, [1] along with BMWlux, DoBig Studios, and DevNamedDavid. As of 3 September 2025, he has gained over 37,821,000,000 visits across his Roblox games. He also gained over 230,000 subscribers on YouTube [2] and 11,200,000 on TikTok. [3]

Jandel has set a world record for the fastest game to reach 1 billion visits on Roblox, along with the most players in one game ever. On 26 August 2025, Jandel beat the gaming service Steam's record of the most players playing at once on a video game platform, gaining at least 23 million players due to a in-game "admin abuse war", with the owner of another Roblox game, Steal a Brainrot .

Personal life

He was born on 4 April 1997, in Wellington, New Zealand [4] and married Elliana Madsen on 21 November 2024. [5]

Online career

Jandel began his YouTube channel on 2 November 2010, [6] but did not upload until 23 June 2012. [7] His first upload was a video called "Star swirl The Bearded". He made his Roblox account on 21 October 2010. He made his first game called Bed Wars, which would go on to gain over 49 million visits on 9 August 2017. Along with it, he occasionally posted devlogs on his YouTube channel.

Grow a Garden

Jandel bought a part of a farming simulator Grow a Garden in April 2025 with his Roblox group, Jandel's Splitting Point Studios, a time when it still had around 1,000 concurrent players. Jandel later stated that the original developer owned 50% of the game. Originally, the game was made by an anonymous 16 year old. [8] Some time later, a company by the name of DoBig Studios came to hold a minority share.

Admin Abuse

Travis Kelce Collab

Jandel has hosted many admin abuses on his game. On 26 July 2025, Travis Kelce collabed with Jandel to host an event called "The Post Dunk Event". [9] This eventually led up to an update called The Corrupted Update. This was quoted as "one of the largest and most feature-rich expansions in the game’s history". [10]

Admin Abuse war

In August 2025, Jandel accused SpyderSammy, another Roblox developer for Steal a Brainrot, for stealing another game called Steal a Character. Then, Jandel announced on Twitter that he declared an admin abuse war on Sammy. In response, Sammy agreed. The event began on 23 August 2025. Players were dressed up as a green character with a hoodie, for Team Jandel, or as a yellow player with red clothes and a red visor for Team Sammy. The event lasted approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. [11] Team Jandel gave out prismatic seeds for players, whilst Team Sammy gave out OP Brainrots. The time for the event is listed below: [12]

In the end, it was rumoured by pro-Jandel players that Team Jandel won. However, players question who won the war. [13]
