Jason Vincent is American, national award-winning chef and co-owner of the restaurant Giant, located in Chicago, Illinois.
Vincent grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and first became interested in cooking when he was a dishwasher at a local Italian restaurant. He started cooking at 15 at a pizza restaurant in Cleveland. [1] He attended the Culinary Institute of America. When he graduated, he worked at the Michelin three-starred restaurant Arzak in San Sebastian, Spain. [2]
Leaving Spain, Vincent worked as a line cook at the James Beard Award winner Fore Street restaurant in Portland, Maine. In 2005, he settled in Chicago where he met Jason Hammel, chef-owner of Lula Café. [2] Vincent and Hammel worked together for four years, when Hammel raised the idea of opening another restaurant. Together, they opened Nightwood with a menu that changed daily with fresh ingredients. [1] Under Vincent, Nightwood earned the Michelin Guide's Bib Gourmand Award and was recognized on Bon Appetit magazine's "10 Best Dishes of 2010" list. [2] Vincent left Nightwood in 2014 to spend more time with his family. In 2016, he opened Giant in Logan Square with Ben Lustbader and Josh Perlman. The 1400 square foot restaurant serves American food. [3] [4] The Chicago Tribune rated one of their dishes as part of their list of the best foods of 2016. He owns restaurants in several cities around the United States, and has won a number of awards, both for his cooking, and for his humanitarian work. He is a professor and the founder of the Global Food Institute at George Washington University.
Le Bernardin is a French seafood restaurant in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. Gilbert Le Coze and his sister Maguy Le Coze started the restaurant in Paris in 1972, where it was called Les Moines de St. Bernardin. They restarted the restaurant in New York in 1986, not long after receiving a third Michelin star.
David Chang is an American restaurateur, author, podcaster, and television personality. He is the founder of the Momofuku restaurant group. In 2009, Momofuku Ko was awarded two Michelin stars, which the restaurant has retained each year since. In 2011, he co-founded the influential food magazine Lucky Peach, which lasted for 25 quarterly volumes into 2017. In 2018, Chang created, produced, and starred in a Netflix original series called Ugly Delicious, and through his Majordomo Media group, he has produced and/or starred in more television and podcasts. On November 29, 2020, he became the first celebrity to win the $1,000,000 top prize for his charity, Southern Smoke Foundation, and the fourteenth overall million dollar winner on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
Jason Atherton is an English chef and restaurateur. His flagship restaurant Pollen Street Social gained a Michelin Star in 2011, its opening year. He was the Executive Chef at Gordon Ramsay's Michelin starred Maze in London until 30 April 2010. In 2014 he co-hosted the Sky Living TV series My Kitchen Rules.
Kai Mayfair is a fine dining Chinese restaurant located on 65 South Audley Street, Mayfair, near Park Lane in London, England. It was opened in 1993 by Malaysian sport shooter; Bernard Yeoh, with the intent of changing the perception of the Chinese restaurant experience. Yeoh was keen to show that Asian food has just as much standing in the fine-dining circuit as other cuisines. The head chef is Alex Chow, while Yeoh continues to be the proprietor to this day.
The Ledbury is a restaurant located on Ledbury Road, Notting Hill, London, England. It held two Michelin stars from 2010 until 2021, when it lost them as it shut due to Covid-19 restrictions being impractical for the restaurant, making it ineligible for assessment by Michelin inspectors. It has also been featured in S.Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants. The restaurant reopened in February 2022, after being closed for almost 2 years. It regained both Michelin stars in the 2023 Michelin Guide.
Momofuku is a culinary brand established by chef David Chang in 2004 with the opening of Momofuku Noodle Bar. It includes restaurants in New York City, Toronto (defunct), Las Vegas, and Los Angeles, a bakery established by pastry chef Christina Tosi, a bar (Nikai), and a quarterly magazine. The restaurants are notable for their innovative take on cuisine while supporting local, sustainable and responsible farmers and food purveyors.
Dinner by Heston Blumenthal is a restaurant in London, England, created by Heston Blumenthal. Opened in January 2011, it received a Michelin star within a year and earned its second in 2014. In April 2014, it was listed fifth on The World's 50 Best Restaurants in Restaurant.
Mosconi is an Italian restaurant located at 13 rue Munster in the Grund district of Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, overlooking the river Alzette. Headed by chef Illario Mosconi, formerly from Lombardy, Italy, it is one of the Relais & Châteaux series of hotels and gourmet restaurants from around the world. The menu is an eight-course set menu of pasta dishes prepared with most of the ingredients imported from Italy. Mosconi became the first Italian restaurant to receive a Michelin star in Benelux. For a time, it had two Michelin stars but reverted to just one again in the guide for 2014.
Dim Tu Tac, founded in 2015, is a Cantonese cuisine and dim sum restaurant chain in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. 'Dim tu tac' means "anything you want" or "anything is possible" in Cantonese language. The name also expresses the restaurant's mission to help food lovers explore the Cantonese gourmet world through a combination of innovative cooking techniques and the using of ingredients from many different culinary cultures.
Bocca di Lupo is a small Italian restaurant on Archer Street in London's Soho district which was rated the best London restaurant in Time Out magazine's 2009 listing, and won the "Best Wine List" award in Tatler magazine's 2013 restaurant awards, as well as a Michelin Guide "Bib Gourmand" award. The Time Out award was attributed partly to the restaurant's bargain prices, which increased significantly as its popularity grew. Bocca di Lupo serves cuisine from a variety of Italian regions, with each dish's origin labelled on the menu.
Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle is a street food stall in Outram, Singapore. It is owned and run by Chan Hon Meng. In 2016, the stall became one of the first two street food locations in the world to be awarded a star in the Michelin Guide, although it lost its star in 2021. It has since become internationally franchised under the English name Hawker Chan.
The Bywater is a casual, New Orleans-inspired restaurant located in Los Gatos, California. The name of the restaurant is a reference to the New Orleans neighborhood of the same name.
