On May 19, 2025, Mitchell announced that he would run for attorney general of Alabama in 2026. [10]

Personal life

Mitchell is married to his wife, Elizabeth; they reside in Homewood with their four children. [3] He is a lifelong Republican and a member of the Federalist Society. [6] [11]
