The Gita Govinda is a work composed by the 12th-century Odia Hindu poet, Jayadeva. It describes the relationship between Krishna and Srimati Radhika and the gopikas of Vrindavana.

Jayadeva, also spelt Jaideva, was a Odia Sanskrit poet during the 12th century. Must not be confused with Jayadev Kar, the famous English lecturer of Odisha.He is most known for his epic poem Gita Govinda which concentrates on Krishna's love with the gopi, Radha, in a rite of spring. This poem, which presents the view that Radha is greater than Krishna, is considered an important text in the Bhakti movement of Hinduism.

Rohini Hattangadi is an Indian actress, known for her work in Hindi, Gujarati and Telugu films, Marathi soap operas and theatre. Jaydev Kenduli is a village and gram panchayat in Ilambazar community development block in Bolpur subdivision of Birbhum District in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is believed by many to be the birthplace of Jayadeva, an issue that is still debated by scholars. It has developed as a religious centre with many temples and ashramas (hermitages). An annual fair, popular as baul fair, is organized on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.

Kallarali Hoovagi is a 2006 Indian Kannada historical drama romance film directed by T. S. Nagabharana, based on a novel of the same name written by B. L. Venu. Bhakta Jayadeva is a 1961 Indian Telugu-language biographical film, based on the life of 12th Century Orissa Sanskrit Poet Jayadeva, produced by Komaravolu Narayana Rao and G. Paramdhama Reddy under the Lalitha Kala Nikethan banner and directed by P. V. Rama Rao, while Ramakrishna took care of direction supervision. It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Anjali Devi and music composed by Saluri Rajeshwara Rao.
