Jean-Pierre Simb (born 4 September 1974) is a French former professional footballer who played as a forward.
Simb joined English Division Three side Torquay United in March 1999 from Red Star 93.
He made his league debut at home to Hartlepool United on 27 March 1999 as a 17th-minute substitute for O'Neill Donaldson who went off with a broken leg that was to end his professional career. In the 37th minute Simb set off from just outside the penalty area on a run down the left wing. Eighty yards later, after a number of tricks, he was deep inside the Pool penalty-area. His cross was met by the head of Brian McGorry and fellow debutant, Eifion Williams was on hand to score Torquay's opener in a 3–0 win, with Williams scoring all three goals.
Simb's first goal for Torquay came a month later in a 2–0 win at home to promotion-chasing Rotherham United. Although popular with the fans for his trickery, it was not suited to the harsh realities of Third Division football and he spent much of the remainder of his time at Plainmoor on the substitutes' bench, before being released in February 2000.

The losing semi-finalists were Hartlepool United and Hull City who had been defeated by Blackpool and Leyton Orient respectively. It was the first season that the play-off finals were contested at the Millennium Stadium during the redevelopment of Wembley Stadium.

The 1988 Football League Fourth Division play-off Final was an association football match contested by Swansea City and Torquay United over two legs on 25 and 28 May 1988, to determine which club would play the following season in the Third Division. Torquay United had finished in fifth place in the Fourth Division while Swansea City finished sixth. They were joined in the play-offs by fourth-placed Scunthorpe United and Rotherham United, who had finished in 21st place in the division above. Swansea City defeated Rotherham United County in their semi-final, consigning the latter to relegation to the Fourth Division, while Torquay United beat Scunthorpe United in the other.

It determined the second and final team to gain promotion from the National League, English football's fifth tier, to EFL League Two. The team that finished first in the 2020–21 National League gained automatic promotion to League Two, while the teams placed from second to seventh participated in the play-offs. Sutton United gained the only automatic promotion spot to League Two. The winners of the semi-finals competed for the final promotion spot for the 2021–22 EFL League Two. The losing play-off quarter-finalists were Chesterfield and Bromley. In the following round, Notts County and Stockport County were eliminated in the semi-finals.
