Jean Garvey Dahlgren is an American artist and designer. She is the third overall president and first female president of the Delaware College of Art and Design.
Dahlgren completed her Master of Fine Arts degree from Marywood University through their low-residency program "Get Your Master’s with the Masters." [1] She also completed her Master's degree from the State University of New York at Oswego. [2]
Upon completing her formal education,Dahlgren began teaching at The Sage Colleges in 1988 and eventually became the program coordinator for Sage’s graphic design program. In these roles,she spearheaded the development of the four-year program in graphic design and served as coordinator for Sage’s graphic and media design program. [3] During her tenure at Sage,Dahlgren also served on the leadership team for the College Board/Educational Testing Service Advanced Placement in Studio Art and on the Upstate NY Board of the American Institute of Graphic Arts. In July 2016,Dahlgren was named Dean of Sage College of Albany. [4]
In 2018,Dahlgren left Sage to become the third president of the Delaware College of Art and Design. [2] [3] Following her appointment,she was named on Delaware Business Times's 2019 People to Watch List. [5]

Along with Russell Sage College and the Sage Graduate School,it was one of the three colleges that made up The Sage Colleges. It was also home to Sage After Work,which offers a variety of bachelor's degrees in a format designed specifically for adult learners. It offered bachelor's degrees,with the largest programs being Visual Arts,Management and the interdisciplinary Law &Society. SCA students often took courses on the Russell Sage College campus in Troy,New York,or accelerated into one of the master's programs in the Sage Graduate School. 850 students were enrolled at SCA,and it shared approximately 150 faculty members with the other Sage colleges. About 66% of the student body were female. Since 2020,the former SCA is now Russell Sage's Albany campus.

Greiman is also credited,along with early collaborator Jayme Odgers,with helping to import the European New Wave design style to the US during the late 70s and early 80s." According to design historian Steven Heller,“April Greiman was a bridge between the modern and postmodern,the analog and the digital.”“She is a pivotal proponent of the ‘new typography’and new wave that defined late twentieth-century graphic design.”Her art combines her Swiss design training with West Coast postmodernism.
Sheila Levrant de Bretteville is an American graphic designer,artist and educator whose work reflects her belief in the importance of feminist principles and user participation in graphic design. In 1990 she became the director of the Yale University Graduate Program in Graphic Design and the first woman to receive tenure at the Yale University School of Art. In 2010 she was named the Caroline M. Street Professor of Graphic Design.

Erica Muhl is an American composer and conductor who was the president of Berklee College of Music until July 24,2023. She formerly served as dean of the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy,and was previously dean of the University of Southern California Roski School of Art and Design before being accused of “strategic dismantlement of a formerly renowned studio arts program”by the 2015 graduating class. She received an Award in Music from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 1999.
Debbie Millman is an American writer,educator,artist,curator,and designer who is best known as the host of the podcast Design Matters. She has authored six books and is the President Emeritus of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and chair,one of only five women to hold the position over 100 years. She co-founded the Masters in Branding Program at the School of Visual Arts in New York City with Steven Heller. She was previously the editorial and creative director of Print magazine. Her illustrations have appeared in many major publications,including New York Magazine,Design Observer,and Fast Company and her artwork has been included in many museums and institutes including the Design Museum of Chicago and the Boston Biennale.
Ashley Blazer Biden is an American social worker,activist,philanthropist,and fashion designer. She served as the executive director of the Delaware Center for Justice from 2014 to 2019. Prior to her administrative role at the center,Biden worked in the Delaware Department of Services for Children,Youth,and Their Families. She founded the fashion company Livelihood,which partners with the online retailer Gilt Groupe to raise money for community programs focused on eliminating income inequality in the United States,launching it at New York Fashion Week in 2017. Biden's parents are President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden.

He was President of the Education Division of Cambridge Information Group from 2007 to 2018,and President of Sotheby's Institute of Art and founding Chairman of Bach to Rock. He was president and Director of the Corcoran Gallery of Art and Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington,DC,from 1991 to 2005,and Chancellor of The New School for Social Research in New York City from 1989 to 1991. From 1970 to 1989 Levy was Executive Dean and CEO of Parsons School of Design. He holds a bachelor's degree from Columbia College,Columbia University and a master's degree and PhD from New York University.
Jacqueline S. Casey was a graphic designer best known for the posters and other graphic art she created for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). While practicing a functional Modernism,Jacqueline S. Casey was a graphic designer in the Office of Publications from 1955 to 1989,and was appointed director in 1972. In discussing her design,Casey stated,"My work combines two cultures:The American interest in visual metaphor on the one hand,and the Swiss fascination with planning,fastidiousness,and control over technical execution on the other."
Cheryl D. Holmes Miller is an American graphic designer,Christian minister,writer,artist,theologian,and decolonizing historian. She is known for her contributions to racial and gender equality in the graphic design field,and establishing one of the first black-women-owned design firms in New York City in 1984. Her alma maters are the Maryland Institute College of Art,Pratt Institute,Rhode Island School of Design,and Union Theological.
Sally Elaine McRorie is an American psychologist and painter. She is the provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at Florida State University and president of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
Sharon Church was an American studio jeweler,metalsmith,and educator. She is a professor emerita of the University of the Arts (Philadelphia) in Philadelphia,Pennsylvania. In 2012,Church was elected a Fellow of the American Craft Council (ACC). In 2018,she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of North American Goldsmiths.
