Jeanne Nicholson (born September 22,1943) is a Democratic former-member of the Colorado Senate,who represented the 16th district from 2011 to 2015. [1] Her district encompasses the city of Georgetown,Colorado. [2]
Nicholson ran for Colorado State Representative,District 62,in 2000. She was defeated by Republican Glenn Scott. [3]
In 2010,she ran for Colorado State Senate,District 16,defeating Republican Tim Leonard. [3]
In the 2011 session of the Colorado General Assembly,Nicholson vice-chaired the local government committee and was a member of the appropriations,education and judiciary committees. [4]
In 2014,Nicholson ran for re-election and was defeated by in Republican Tim Neville. [3]
Nicolson is a retired public health nurse,having worked nearly 40 years in nursing. [5] [6] She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1966;and earned a master of science degree from the University of Colorado in community health nursing in 1999. Her master's thesis was on "Politician's Perceptions of Public Health". [7]
