Rwanda is a de facto one-party state ruled by the Rwandan Patriotic Front and its leader Paul Kagame since the end of the 1994 genocide against members of the Tutsi ethnic group. Although Rwanda is nominally democratic,elections are manipulated in various ways,which include banning opposition parties,arresting or assassinating critics,and electoral fraud.
The Rwanda Defence Force is the military of the Republic of Rwanda. The country's armed forces were originally known as the Forces armées rwandaises (FAR),but following the Rwandan Civil War of 1990–1994 and the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi,the victorious Rwandan Patriotic Front (Inkotanyi) renamed it the Rwandan Patriotic Army (RPA),its army name during the struggle of 1990–1994. Later,it was renamed to its current name.
Rose Kabuye is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Rwandan Army and Until late 2023,she was the highest ranking woman ever to serve in her country's armed forces. She is currently working in the private sector as chief executive officer of Virunga Logistics and Startech Limited but is best known for her work as a fighter for the Rwandan Patriotic Front during the Rwandan Civil War. She subsequently became Mayor of Kigali City,Rwandan Chief of State Protocol,and a member of the Rwandan parliament. Because of her participation in the liberation struggle,she was awarded The Rwandan National Liberation Medal and the Campaign Against Genocide Medal. She was serving as the chief of protocol of Rwandan President Paul Kagame in November 2008 when she was arrested in Frankfurt,Germany on charges that were lifted in March 2009.
Jeannette Nyiramongi Kagame is the wife of Paul Kagame. She became the First Lady of Rwanda when her husband took office as President in 2000. Kagame is the founder and chairman of Imbuto Foundation,a non-profit organization whose mission is to support the development of a healthy,educated and prosperous society.
Louise Mushikiwabo is the fourth and current Secretary General of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie. She previously served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Rwanda from 2009 to 2018. She also served as Government Spokesperson. She had previously been Minister of Information.
The Cabinet of Rwanda consists of the Prime Minister,Ministers,Ministers of State and other members nominated by the President. Members of Cabinet are selected from political organisations based on the number of seats they hold in the Chamber of Deputies,but members of Cabinet cannot themselves belong to the Chamber.

This position has been reinstated as the Government moves to streamline and strengthen TVET Education and ICT integration in teaching and learning.

Jean Chrysostome holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from University of Milan in Italy,and he is a professor of agriculture economics at University of Rwanda,since 2009.
