Jeannette Bayisenge is Rwandan politician and socialist who currently President Paul Kagame appointed as Minister of Public Service and Labour on Tuesday,August 22. before she serves as Minister of Gender and Family Promotion in Rwanda (MIGEPROF) since 2020 and Associate Professor of Gender studies at the University of Rwanda. [1] [2] Jeannette Bayisenge is a native of Rwanda,born and raised in Rwanda. She has 3 children all are boys. Her passion for gender equality and social justice has been evident throughout her career,both in academia and politics. Her dedication to creating a more inclusive and equitable society has earned her recognition from her peers and constituents alike [3] [4]
Jeannette Bayisenge's political career began in 2020 when she assumed the role of the minister of Gender of family promotion in Rwanda. and she has been actively participated in promoting gender equality and family welfare in Rwanda and social progress particularly in Kigali city. Her effort as minister have focused on advancing Women's rights an empowerment,addressing Gender-based violence and implementing policies that enhance family well-being [5] [6]
In the year 2023 for the first time a conference Women Delver held in Rwanda Jeannette Bayisenge participated in the Conference and actively supported conversations,This conference on the Africa Continent visibly as the first time as well. this marked the on going effort and potential of Rwanda in promoting Woman,Minister Jeannette Bayisenge was the chair of the WD2023 Host Country committee in 2023 in Kigali Conventional Centre she said that Gender equality will only be when all the people have equal access to the power dignity,justice,rights,health and opportunities that will enables every one of them to network,and develop skills in sharing knowledge,and this will be harmonized by getting access on funding opportunities.as well as participating in conversations that contribute to the Global agender setting on gender equality [7] [8]
Bayisenge holds a Ph.D. in Social Work with a focus on Gender from University of Gothenburg,Sweden,a master's degree in Development Cooperation with Specialization in Women and Development from EWHA Woman's University in Seoul-South Korea and a bachelor's degree in Social Work from National University of Rwanda. [9] [10]
Prior to her appointment,Bayisenge was serving as Director of the Centre of Gender Studies and Associate Professor of Gender Studies at the University of Rwanda's College of Arts and Social Sciences (UR-CASS) where she had worked since 2004. [11] [12] She has also served as the President of the National Women's Council since June 2018. Bayisenge also served on several boards and councils including the Chairperson of the Council of the City of Kigali and Gasabo District, [13] [12] Vice Chairperson of Board of Directors in Local Administrative Entities Development Agency (LODA) as well as Board Member in Rwanda National ID Agency (NIDA). Rwanda is a de facto one-party state ruled by the Rwandan Patriotic Front and its leader Paul Kagame since the end of the Rwandan civil war in 1994. Although Rwanda is nominally democratic,elections are manipulated in various ways,which include banning opposition parties,arresting or assassinating critics,and electoral fraud.

Felicite Rwemarika was born on 9 March 1958 in Ruanda-Urundi. She has been a member of the IOC since 2018. Rwemarika has organized many international conferences on gender equality in sports and in society as a whole. She is also a speaker at the American University of Nigeria on unity and reconciliation through sport. Rwemarika organizes workshops and seminars in order to raise awareness for gender equality in sports and promote sport as a powerful tool for peace-building,conflict resolution,and economic empowerment. Rwemarika has dedicated herself to heal women who were victims of the 1994 Tutsi genocide through activities which are held by the Association of Kigali Women in Sports. She is a supporter of gender equality and encourages the wider participation of both women and men in the conversations about gender-based violence,women empowerment,HIV/AIDS reconciliation and entrepreneurship. She is also an organizer of financial literacy trainings and bespoke competitions for the AKWOS members.
Hon. Irere Claudette is a Rwandan technology professional and politician,who was appointed the Minister of State in charge of ICT and Technical Vocational Education and Training by President of Rwanda Paul Kagame in February 2020. This position has been reinstated as the Government moves to streamline and strengthen TVET Education and ICT integration in teaching and learning.
