Jed Solomon (born December 29, 1992) is an American football placekicker who is currently a free agent. He has played for the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League, the Atlanta Havoc of the American Arena League (AAL), and the Columbus Lions of the National Arena League.

College career

After graduating from Lowndes High School in Valdosta, Georgia, [1] Solomon attended Troy University and played for the Troy Trojans football team. [2] [3] [4] [5] He graduated in 2015, ranked second all time in field goal percentage, with 78.9%.

Professional career

After going undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft, Solomon eventually signed with the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League on May 18, 2017, during the 2017 Arena Football League season. [6] In the 2017 season, Solomon went 16-for-28 on PAT attempts. He was placed on reassignment on June 14, 2017. [7]

He signed with the Atlanta Havoc for the 2018 season. He went 85–91 on PAT's leaving him with 93% made and was voted the league's best kicker. [8]

Solomon also played in 2021 for the Columbus Lions.

The Cleveland Gladiators were an arena football team based in Cleveland, Ohio, United States, and members of the Arena Football League (AFL). Aaron Pettrey is an American football placekicker who is currently a free agent. He was formerly a kicker for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Pettrey was signed to the Cincinnati Bengals' roster on November 16, 2010, after a season-ending injury to Mike Nugent, another former Buckeye. Pettrey was waived by the Bengals on November 30, 2010. He was two for four on field goal attempts in two games.

Thyron Lewis is an American football wide receiver for the Atlanta Havoc of the American Arena League (AAL). He played college football at Howard University and attended William H. Taft High School in Woodland Hills, California. He has also been a member of the Stockton Lightning, Tri-Cities Fever, Bossier–Shreveport Battle Wings and Los Angeles KISS. Lewis was also drafted by Team Tennessee in the supplemental 2008 AAFL Draft and by the Georgia Stallions in the 2009 UNGL Draft.

Larry Ford is an American football defensive lineman for the Atlanta Havoc of the American Arena League (AAL). He was signed by the Florida Tarpons as an undrafted free agent in 2012. He played college football at West Virginia University, after transferring in from Coffeyville Community College. After the Tarpons, Ford was signed by the PIFL's Lehigh Valley Steelhawks, where he played during the 2013 season, before signing with the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League (AFL). Ford returned to Lehigh Valley in 2014, and eventually signed with the Cleveland Gladiators during the season. On March 3, 2017, Ford signed with the High Country Grizzlies. He signed with the Atlanta Havoc for the 2018 season.

Pat Clarke III is an American football placekicker who is currently a free agent. He has also played for the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks, Spokane Empire, Philadelphia Soul, Beijing Lions and Baltimore Brigade.

The 2017 Cleveland Gladiators season was the 18th season for the franchise in the Arena Football League, and their eighth in Cleveland. The Gladiators played at the Quicken Loans Arena. The Gladiators drew an average home attendance of 10,173 in the 2017 AFL season.

The American Arena League (AAL) is a professional indoor football minor league that began playing in 2018. The league was initiated by a merger between Arena Pro Football (APF) and the Can-Am Indoor Football League (Can-Am), although the AAL only claimed the APF history after the former Can-Am founder left the league. Teams from both leagues, new teams, and later teams from Supreme Indoor Football and National Arena League constituted the new league for its inaugural season.

Ross started out with the Lions from 2013 to 2015 as part of the Professional Indoor Football League. As an Arena Football League player, Ross was the 2016 AFL Rookie of the Year with the Cleveland Gladiators before playing with the Atlantic City Blackjacks in 2019. In between these years, Ross played in the National Arena League with the Jacksonville Sharks and the Canadian Football League with the Calgary Stampeders from 2017 to 2018. With the Lions, Ross was awarded the 2021 NAL Defensive Player of the Year and had the season record for most interceptions.

The city has been home to several additional professional sports franchises, including a women's basketball team, multiple soccer teams, and a past incarnation of the Cleveland Browns now known as the Baltimore Ravens. Cleveland has also been home to several ice hockey franchises, beginning in 1937 with the AHL member Cleveland Barons. The original Barons, although having been the most successful team in AHL history at that point, moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where they subsequently folded after one season.
