Jeffrey Keith Werner was an American sports broadcaster. He was known for anchoring sports at WGAL for 21 years and at WIOV-FM radio for 24 years, hosting his radio show, Time Machine for 10 years until he retired in 2015.
Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Frances (Sweigart) Witwer of Honeybrook and the late Kenneth Werner (who was an engineer at WLPA-AM 1490 when the station was on Queen Street in Lancaster and then worked at WGAL) and was the brother of Bradley Werner. Part of the Lutheran faith, Werner was an army veteran during the Vietnam War era, serving his country from 1968 to 1972 while stationed in Japan for two years.

While at WGAL as a sportscaster, he held positions as a reporter, anchor, and weatherman, but mainly covered sports and that he always had radio in his blood. He then returned to WIOV Radio in his second stint where he launched and hosted a show with old music, which became The Time Machine with Jeff Werner a request and a call-in show that became popular in which he continued talking sports, but also aired country music from the 70s and 80s and even the 50s and 60s country music. It was also where he had the freedom to play what he wanted. He retired from covering sports in 2015. [1]
An animal lover, Werner loved being with his dogs. He was married to Lisa (Wolf) Werner, who died on March 10, 2016. They had two children: a daughter named Janika and a son named Todd. Jeff and his wife Lisa were grandparents to four grandchildren: Makayla, Logan, Claire, and Jake.
