Jeffrey Wernick (1953 – September 2, 2009) was an American animation executive and sports agent.

Animation Method of creating moving pictures

Animation is a method in which pictures are manipulated to appear as moving images. In traditional animation, images are drawn or painted by hand on transparent celluloid sheets to be photographed and exhibited on film. Today, most animations are made with computer-generated imagery (CGI). Computer animation can be very detailed 3D animation, while 2D computer animation can be used for stylistic reasons, low bandwidth or faster real-time renderings. Other common animation methods apply a stop motion technique to two and three-dimensional objects like paper cutouts, puppets or clay figures.

A sports agent is a legal representative for professional sports figures such as athletes and coaches. They procure and negotiate employment and endorsement contracts for the athlete or coach whom they represent. Because of the unique characteristics of the sports industry, sports agents are responsible for communications with team owners, managers, and other individuals. Also, they are responsible for making recommendations in regard. In addition to finding income sources, agents often handle public relations matters for their clients. In some large sports agencies, such as IMG, Creative Artists Agency, Roc Nation Sports and Octagon, agents deal with all aspects of a client's finances, from investment to filing taxes.

Born in Brooklyn, Wernick studied at NYU law school after attending the State University at Buffalo. He worked for Donovan, Leisure and Irvine law firm until he joined DIC Animation City. Wernick oversaw the growth of DIC as COO of the company. He also represented the company in legal affairs and development in China.

DIC Entertainment Corporation was an international film and television production company. In 2008, DiC was acquired by the Cookie Jar Group and was folded into it. Most of the DiC library is currently owned by DHX Media after DHX acquired the Cookie Jar Group on October 22, 2012.

Wernick also served as Vice President of basketball at Wasserman Media Group in 2006. He previously worked for Arn Tellem until he sold his business. During his time as a sports agent he represented basketball players such as Joe Johnson of the Atlanta Hawks and Mike Miller of the Washington Wizards.

Arn Herschel Tellem is vice chairman of the Detroit Pistons. From 1981 to 2015 he was a sports agent best known for his representation of basketball and baseball players. He was Vice Chairman of the Wasserman Media Group, a global sport and entertainment marketing agency headed by Casey Wasserman. From 2009 to 2010 he wrote a semi-weekly sports column for The Huffington Post. He has also written for Sports Illustrated, the Op-ed page of The New York Times, Grantland and The Japan Times.

He played high school basketball for Little Rock Central High School and college basketball for the Arkansas Razorbacks. After two years with Arkansas, he declared for the 2001 NBA draft where he was drafted 10th overall by the Boston Celtics. He is a seven-time NBA All-Star and has also played for the Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat and Utah Jazz, while having also represented the United States national team.
