Jenna Rheault (born June 6, 1996) is an American ice hockey defender who played for the Boston Pride of the now defunct Premier Hockey Federation.
During high school, she played for St. Paul's School, winning a NEPSAC championship and being awarded the ISL Award of Excellence. At St. Paul's, she also captained the girls' soccer team and played for the school's softball team.
From 2015 to 2019, she attended the University of New Hampshire, scoring a total of 24 points in 142 NCAA games. She picked up 3 points in 36 games in her rookie year with the university, notching her first collegiate goal in October 2015 against Clarkson and finishing the year third on her team in blocked shots. She performer conssitenyly throughout the next two years, scoring five points and six points respectively and placing among her team's leaders n blocked shots both years. She had a breakout year in her senior season, doubling her point production to reach 10 points in 35 games, and winning the UNH Athletics Colleen Coyne Best Defensive Player Award and Tina True Award for dedication to strength and conditioning. That year, she was also inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma honour society for student athletes. [1]
She was selected 25th overall by the Pride in the 2018 NWHL Draft. [2] She would become the first player from that draft class to sign in the NWHL when she joined the Pride in May 2019 on a $7,500 contract. [3] She would put up 6 points in 24 games in her rookie season, as the Pride finished almost undefeated and made it to the Isobel Cup finals before the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. [4] [5] She scored her first professional goal against Kelsey Neumann in late December 2019, scoring the game-winning goal in overtime as the Pride came back from a three-goal deficit against the Buffalo Beauts. She re-signed with the Pride ahead of the 2020–21 NWHL season. [7] She broke her wrist in the second game of the season, in a collision with Kayla Meneghin, and was forced to miss the rest of the season. [8]
Rheault participated in the USA National Development Camp from 2009 to 2012, but has yet to make an appearance for the American national team. [9]
Rheault has been described as a stay-at-home defender, noted for consistency and shot-blocking abilities, ranking among the top four shot-blockers on the Wildcats every year during her time in the NCAA and finishing fourth on the Pride in her rookie professional season. [10] As a defensive player, she has been noted for relying on her hockey IQ instead of her physicality, rarely racking up penalty minutes, and her skating skills. [11]
Rheault has a master's degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of New Hampshire. Her brother, Jon Rheault, recently played ice hockey professionally for the Nottingham Panthers in the EIHL, and her father, Jonathan Rheault, played hockey for Colgate University in the late 1970s. Rheault works as a Certified Occupational Therapist at Hillsboro-Deering Elementary School in Hillsboro, NH.
Gisele Marie "Gigi" Marvin is an American former professional ice hockey player. Between 2010 and 2024, she played for the Minnesota Whitecaps and Boston Blades of the Canadian Women's Hockey League, the Boston Pride of the Premier Hockey Federation, and the Boston Fleet of the Professional Women's Hockey League. As a member of the United States national women's ice hockey team, Marvin won a silver medal at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games and the 2014 Winter Olympics, and a gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics. She hails from Warroad, Minnesota.
Kacey Lee Bellamy is an American ice hockey defender for the Calgary section of the PWHPA, an Olympic Gold medalist, and seven-time IIHF World Women's Championship winner. She currently plays for the Boston Pride in the National Women's Hockey League and the United States women's national ice hockey team. She won the Isobel Cup with the Pride and is a two-time Clarkson Cup champion with the Boston Blades of the Canadian Women's Hockey League.
Hilary Atwood Knight is an American ice hockey forward and captain of the Boston Fleet of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She is also a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. She previously played for the Les Canadiennes de Montréal of the CWHL and the Boston Pride of the NWHL, with whom she won the inaugural Isobel Cup.
Jonathan Williamson Rheault is an American former professional ice hockey player who last played for the Nottingham Panthers in the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). Rheault was born in Arlington, Texas, but grew up in Deering, New Hampshire.
Jillian T. Dempsey is an American professional ice hockey player for the Montreal Victoire of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). The former captain of the Boston Pride of the now-defunct Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), she holds the all-time PHF records for games played, goals, assists, and points, and is one of only two players to have won the Isobel Cup three times.
The Boston Pride were a professional women's ice hockey team based in Boston, Massachusetts. They were one of the four charter franchises of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). The Pride played at Warrior Ice Arena, which is also the practice facility for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League. The Pride won the inaugural Isobel Cup in 2016 and became the first professional women's ice hockey team to win three championship titles when they claimed consecutive victories in 2021 and 2022.
Blake Alexis Bolden is an American former ice hockey player, and scout for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL). On October 11, 2015, she became the first African-American player to compete in the National Women's Hockey League. She won the 2015 Clarkson Cup with the Boston Blades of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL). In 2016, she won the Isobel Cup with the Boston Pride of the NWHL. Bolden is also a contributor and rinkside reporter for ESPN's NHL coverage.
Kaleigh Fratkin is a Canadian professional ice hockey player for the Boston Fleet of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). The second-longest tenured player and leading scorer among defenders in PHF history, she was the first Canadian player to sign a contract in the league, is a five-time PHF all-star, and is a two-time PHF Defender of the Year in 2020 and 2021. She was also a member of the Boston Pride roster that captured the 2021 and 2022 Isobel Cup, and was one of three 2023 PHF All-Star captains. Previous to the joining the NWHL, she won the Clarkson Cup in 2015 and was the first girl to play boys' midget AAA hockey in British Columbia.
Rebecca Vint is a Canadian ice hockey coach, executive, and retired player. She played with the Robert Morris Colonials women's ice hockey program and graduated as the program's all-time leading scorer, with 73 goals and 134 points. She most recently played with the NWHL’s Buffalo Beauts in the 2017–18 season. Vint previously played with the CWHL's Brampton Thunder and participated in the 3rd CWHL All-Star Game.
