Bethnal Green is an area in London, England and is located in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is in east London and part of the East End. The area emerged from the small settlement which developed around the Green, much of which survives today as Bethnal Green Gardens, beside Cambridge Heath Road. By the 16th century the term applied to a wider rural area, the Hamlet of Bethnal Green, which subsequently became a Parish, then a Metropolitan Borough before merging with neighbouring areas to become the north-western part of the new Tower Hamlets.

The Royal London Hospital is a large teaching hospital in Whitechapel in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is part of Barts Health NHS Trust. The current hospital building has 1248 beds and 34 wards. It opened in February 2012.

London Arts Orchestra (LAO) is a UK-based symphony orchestra devoted to cross-arts performance. It was founded in 2009 by Edward Farmer and David Williams. David stepped down from his role as a conductor in 2012 and now assumes the position of chairman for the orchestra. LAO's concerts feature artists, dancers, actors, comedians, designers and talented young professionals from London's music conservatoires. The orchestra explores new ways of presenting classical music.
Chisenhale Gallery is a non-profit contemporary art gallery based in London's East End. The gallery occupies the ground level of a former veneer factory on Chisenhale Road, situated in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, near Victoria Park and flanking the Hertford Union Canal. Housed in the same building are two other distinct initiatives: Chisenhale Studios and Chisenhale Dance Space, named also for the road on which they reside.
East London Business Alliance (ELBA) is a British business-community outreach charity promoting corporate social responsibility (CSR) and employee volunteering. A 'partnership of substantial businesses engaged in the social and economic regeneration of East London', it operates in the Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Newham, Waltham Forest, and, under the name the BIG Alliance, in Islington.
The Big Society Award was a British award set up by prime minister David Cameron in November 2010 as part of the Big Society initiative. The awards recognised community work done in the UK that demonstrates the Big Society. Over fifty awards had been presented by the start of 2015. The awards had been discontinued by 2018.
