Jennifer Roos (born July 17, 1971) [1] was the head women's basketball coach for the Bowling Green Falcons women's basketball team from 2012 through 2018.

Early life

Roos is from Louisville, Kentucky. She played basketball, field hockey, and lacrosse for Davidson. She earned her degree in history from Davidson University in 1993. [2]

Coaching career

Early in her career Roos was an assistant at Davidson. Roos was a long time assistant at Bowling Green under Curt Miller from 2001 through 2012. [3] Miller's teams were very successful winning eight MAC titles. [4] On April 16, 2012, she was named Bowling Green's head coach when Miller accepted the head coach position at Indiana. [2] Her initial teams were successful. Bowling Green won 24 games in 2012–13. [5] In her second season in 2013–14 the Falcons won 30 games and won the MAC regular season title and she was MAC coach of the year. [6] [7] Her later teams were not as successful. She was fired by BGSU on March 8, 2018. [8]

The Bowling Green Falcons are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Bowling Green State University (BGSU), in Bowling Green, Ohio, United States. The Falcons compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level as a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) East Division. The men's ice hockey team competes in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA); and men's soccer competes in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC), following the MAC shutting down its men's soccer league at the end of the 2022 season. Bowling Green sponsors teams in seven men's and 11 women's NCAA-sanctioned sports and the football team competes in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), the highest level for college football. The Falcons have played their home games in Doyt Perry Stadium since 1966. The stadium holds 24,000 spectators. In their 93-year history, the Falcons have won 12 MAC championships and a College Division national championship – as voted by the UPI in 1959. The head coach is Scot Loeffler.

Robyn Fralick is an American women's basketball coach who is the current head coach at Michigan State. She previously coached at Ashland and Bowling Green universities and was director of operations at Western Michigan.

Heather Oesterle is the former head coach of Central Michigan women's basketball team. Oesterle was named CMU's head women's basketball coach in July, 2019, succeeding her long-time mentor Sue Guevara. Oesterle served for nine seasons on Guevara's staff at CMU, helping lead the program to unprecedented heights including three Mid-American Conference championships, two MAC Tournament titles, and five MAC West Division crowns. She earned her bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Michigan in 2002 and her master's degree in sports studies from Miami in 2008.

The 2010 Mid-American Conference women's basketball tournament was the post-season basketball tournament for the Mid-American Conference (MAC) 2009–10 college basketball season. The 2010 tournament was held March 6–13, 2010. Top seeded Bowling Green won the championship over second seeded Toledo. Lauren Prochaska of Bowling Green was the MVP.

The 2006–07 Mid-American Conference women's basketball season began with practices in October 2006, followed by the start of the 2006–07 NCAA Division I women's basketball season in November. Conference play began in January 2007 and concluded in March 2007. Bowling Green won the regular season title with a record of 16–1 over West Division champion Ball State. Ali Mann of Bowling Green and Carrie Moore of Western Michigan shared MAC player of the year.

The 2005–06 Mid-American Conference women's basketball season began with practices in October 2005, followed by the start of the 2005–06 NCAA Division I women's basketball season in November. Conference play began in January 2006 and concluded in March 2006. Bowling Green won the regular season title with a record of 16–0 by one game over West Division champion Eastern Michigan. Lindsay Shearer of Kent State shared MAC player of the year.

Poole has previously spent time in the WNBA as an assistant coach with the Connecticut Sun and as the Director of Basketball Operations with the Portland Fire. She has also served time at the NCAA Division I level with Bowling Green, Indiana, Texas Tech, and West Virginia.
