The Grand Prix de France is an annual international figure skating competition held as part of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. It is organized by the French Federation of Ice Sports. It was previously known as the Grand Prix International de Paris (1987–93), the Trophée de France, the Trophée Lalique (1996–2003), the Trophée Éric Bompard (2004–15), and the Internationaux de France. Medals are awarded in men's singles, women’s singles, pair skating, and ice dance.
The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating is a series of international junior-level competitions organized by the International Skating Union. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The series was inaugurated in 1997 to complement the senior-level ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Skaters earn qualifying points at each Junior Grand Prix event and the six highest-ranking qualifiers meet at the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final, which is held concurrently with the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final.

Dmytro Dmytrenko is a Ukrainian former competitive figure skater. While representing the Soviet Union, he won the 1992 World Junior title. For Ukraine, he won the 1993 European title and 2000 European bronze medal. He competed at the 1998 and 2002 Winter Olympics.
Igor Anatolyevich Pashkevich was a figure skating coach and competitor. He was the 1990 World Junior champion for the Soviet Union and the 1996 European silver medalist for Russia. He competed at the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics for Russia and the 1998 Nagano Olympics for Azerbaijan.

Jan Čejvan is a Slovene former competitive figure skater. The figure skating season is the period of time in which competitions are contested in the sport of figure skating. The skating season begins on July 1 of one year and lasts until June 30 of the next year, thus spanning a full 12 months. The seasons are referred to by the years they span; for example, the 2017–18 figure skating season began in July 2017 and ended in June 2018.
Shin Amano is a Japanese figure skating coach and ISU technical specialist. He appeared as a men's singles skater during most of his competitive career, winning the national title in the 1994–1995 season. In 1997, he began a brief pairs career with Marie Arai. The pair placed 20th at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano. They are the 1998 Japanese national champions.
Ravi Walia is a Canadian figure skating coach and former competitor. He is the 1995 Canadian national bronze medallist and the 1993 Canadian national junior champion, representing the Kerrisdale Figure Skating Club, where he was coached by Dr. Hellmut May. He was later coached by Jan Ullmark and Cynthia Ullmark at The Royal Glenora Club in Edmonton, Alberta.
Enikő Berkes is a Hungarian former competitive ice dancer. With Szilárd Tóth, she is the 1993 Golden Spin of Zagreb bronze medalist and 1994 national champion. They represented Hungary at the 1994 Winter Olympics.
The 2016–17 figure skating season began on July 1, 2016, and ended on June 30, 2017. During this season, elite skaters competed at the 2017 European Championships, Four Continents Championships, World Junior Championships, and World Championships. They also competed at elite events such as the Grand Prix series and Junior Grand Prix series, culminating at the Grand Prix Final, and the Challenger Series.
The 2015–16 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final and ISU Junior Grand Prix Final took place from December 10 to 13, 2015 in Barcelona, Spain. Hosted by Barcelona for the second year in a row, the combined event was the culmination of two international series — the Grand Prix of Figure Skating and the Junior Grand Prix. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dancing on the senior and junior levels. For the first time, medals were also awarded in synchronized skating.
The 2016 Trophée de France was the fourth event of six in the 2016–17 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a senior-level international invitational competition series. It was held at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris on November 11–13. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Skaters earned points toward qualifying for the 2016–17 Grand Prix Final.
