Jesse Warn is an American television director, film director, and screenwriter. He is well known for his work on the Starz drama Spartacus and for The CW's The Originals , Arrow , The Flash and Supergirl . Warn also directed and made his screenwriting debut in the film Nemesis Game .
He began his career writing and directing the 1999 short film 9 Across, starring Rena Owen. In 2000, he wrote and directed his second short film, Little Samurai.
He then segued to television work, directing for series such as, Legend of the Seeker , V , Criminal Minds , The Vampire Diaries , The Originals and True Blood . [1] [2]
Having had directed the first installment of the Starz mini-series Spartacus: Gods of the Arena , "Past Transgressions", Warn was hired as a director for the sequel series Spartacus: War of the Damned . He ultimately directed eight episodes ("The Thing in the Pit", "Great and Unfortunate Things", "Kill Them All", "A Place in This World", "Sacramentum", "Wrath of the Gods", "Wolves at the Gate", "Mors Indecepta"). In winter 2014, Warn directed his first episode of the DC Comics produced Green Arrow origin series Arrow , which was episode 19, of season 2, "The Man Under the Hood", and featured characters crossing over from the series' impending spin-off, The Flash .
Warn directed the third episode of The Flash's first season, "Things You Can't Outrun", which featured the introduction of future-superhero Ronnie Raymond. [3]
He directed the 8th episode of Arrow's 3rd season, "The Brave and the Bold", which again featured a crossover event with The Flash. [4] It also introduced the supervillain Digger Harkness/Captain Boomerang. His next helming episode was with the season's twelfth, "Uprising". It explored the motivations and genesis of The Dark Archer/Malcolm Merlyn. [5] He directed the 17th installment of the year, "Suicidal Tendencies", from a script by co-producer Keto Shimizu. It saw the reformation of Task Force X, with new member Cupid/Carrie Cutter; and explored the past of Deadshot.

"Green Arrow" is the premiere of the fourth season and seventieth overall episode, of the American television series Arrow, originally broadcast on The CW. Based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, the series follows the story of billionaire vigilante Oliver Queen who returns home after five years supposedly stranded on a Pacific island, featuring flashback sequences to his time away. "Invasion!" is the third Arrowverse crossover event, with episodes of the television series The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow on The CW, and is inspired by the 1989 comic miniseries Invasion!. Events at the end of the Supergirl episode "Medusa" on November 28, 2016, marked the beginning of the crossover, which began on November 29 with The Flash, continued on Arrow on November 30, and concluded on Legends of Tomorrow on December 1. Each of the main three episodes were titled "Invasion!". The crossover sees Team Flash helping Team Arrow take on the boomerang-wielding villain Captain Boomerang, while Team Arrow helps Team Flash confront the metahuman Roy Bivolo.

The episode features a musical crossover with Supergirl and reunites Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist with their former Glee co-star Darren Criss, who portrays the Music Meister. Jesse L. Martin also reunites with Jeremy Jordan, with whom he previously worked in the 2012 musical film Joyful Noise. The story begins at the end of the Supergirl episode "Star-Crossed", which aired on March 20, 2017, which saw Kara Danvers / Supergirl (Benoist) hypnotized into a coma by Music Meister, with Mon-El and J'onn J'onzz / Martian Manhunter bringing her to Earth-1 in hope that Team Flash can save her.
"Crisis on Earth-X" is the fourth Arrowverse crossover event, featuring episodes of the live-action television series Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow on The CW. The crossover began on November 27, 2017, with Supergirl and Arrow, and concluded on November 28, with The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. In "Crisis on Earth-X", Barry Allen and Iris West's friends come to Central City for their wedding, only for the proceedings to be interrupted by interlopers from the analogous universe of Earth-X, where the Axis powers claimed victory in World War II.
"Elseworlds" is the fifth Arrowverse crossover event that features episodes of the television series The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl on The CW. The crossover event began on December 9, 2018, with The Flash, continued on Arrow on December 10, and concluded on Supergirl on December 11. "Elseworlds" introduces the characters Batwoman and Lois Lane, and the fictional Gotham City, to the universe. In the crossover, Green Arrow, Flash, and Supergirl are drawn to Gotham City to confront Dr. John Deegan over his work at Arkham Asylum.
"What's Past Is Prologue" is the eighth episode of the fifth season of the American television series The Flash, based on the DC Comics character Barry Allen / Flash, a crime scene investigator who gains super-human speed, which he uses to fight criminals, including others who have also gained superhuman abilities. It is set in the Arrowverse, sharing continuity with the other television series of the universe, and is a spin-off of Arrow. The episode was written by Todd Helbing and Lauren Certo, directed by Tom Cavanagh, and is the series' 100th episode.
"Crisis on Infinite Earths" is the sixth Arrowverse crossover event, featuring episodes of the television series Supergirl, Batwoman, The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow on The CW. The Supergirl, Batwoman, and The Flash episodes aired in December 2019 while the Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow episodes aired in January 2020. The events of the Black Lightning episode "The Book of Resistance: Chapter Four: Earth Crisis" and a two-issue comic book with characters and concepts unused in the live-action episodes also tied into the event.
