Damian King is an Australian professional bodyboarder. He was World Bodyboarding Champion twice, in 2003 and 2004. In 2011 he won the Dropknee World Tour becoming the first bodyboarder in history to win both prone and dropknee world titles.

Michael "Eppo" Eppelstun is an Australian professional bodyboarder who won the bodyboarding world championship in 1993. In winning the competition, he became the first Australian and the first non-Hawaiian to win the World title. Eppo helped develop two new moves in the bodyboarding world which ushered in whole new gymnastic approach to riding a bodyboard. First came the Air Roll Spin and shortly later the Blackflip.

Jeff Hubbard is the 2012 IBA World Tour bodyboarder champion from Kauai, Hawaii. His brother David also won a bodyboarding world title: the 2009 IBA Drop Knee World Tour. Jeff won his first IBA World Title in 2006 and the second in 2009 and third in 2012.

He started to surf in Guriri, Espírito Santo, and he developed his skills as a bodyboarder on the beaches of Niterói, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Otavio has continued his career by surfing Brazil's most sought after bodyboarding waves at Itacoatiara beach. He was the first bodyboarder to execute a 720° reverse air spinner caught on tape, which can be seen in the bodyboarding video movie QUE! Mutação.

An El Rollo is a bodyboarding trick performed when the bodyboarder hits the lip of the wave and uses its power to throw himself out with the lip in a perfect arc to complete a roll before landing on the wave surface or into the white water. When the bodyboarder detaches completely from the wave surface or the lip, the trick is called an air roll or aerial roll. Other variations include the "barrel roll" where the roll is completed inside the barrel, and the "rollo takeoff" which is performed while catching the wave. This trick was named by someone in the industry. I remember the story where Pat Caldwell did the roll and Jack Lindholm or whoever saw him do it and commented "what do you call that an el rollo". Photos of the new move and captions started appearing in Bodyboarding Magazine. The move and the term caught on and spread around the world.

Andre Botha is a South African bodyboarder. Born in Cape Town in 1981, he left school at the age of 15 to become a professional bodyboarder and won his first world title at the age of 17 and his second at 18, winning both the World GOB Tour Series and the Pipeline World Championships.

Alexandre de Pontes (1968–1993), also known as Xandinho, was a Brazilian bodyboarder, and one of the first Brazilians to gain widespread international recognition in the sport. He was the first Brazilian to reach the finals in the Pipeline world bodyboarding championship. He died in a car accident in Portugal when returning to the airport for a flight back to Brazil.

Ben Severson is a Sandy Beach bodyboarder. He was the 1986 world bodyboarding champion.

An ARS, which stands for Air - Roll - Spin, is a bodyboarding trick that combines an El Rollo with a 360° spin while the bodyboarder is in the air. The bodyboarder starts off by approaching the lip and doing the El Rollo, and during the rotation throws him/herself into a forward 360° spin. Michael Eppelstun invented the trick. The move was revolutionary and ushered in whole new gymnastic approach to riding a bodyboard. Kelly Slater credits the Rodeo Clown move was adapted from the ARS.

Ben Player is an Australian bodyboarder who was world champion in 2005, 2007 and 2013. His 2007 victory came after placing second in the 2006 Pipeline final. He has finished #2 overall on the World Bodyboarding Tour several times. Ben now also helps run Movement Bodyboarding magazine.

Sari Ohhara is a Japanese bodyboarder from Ichinomiya, Japan. She is the third ranked top female bodyboarder in the world. She won first place in the 2015 APB Tahara Pro in Japan, her first win in the APB World Tour. She won the 2019 World Title after competing in the Gran Canaria Fronton King Pro 2019.
