Design and development

The Top 80 was designed to comply with the US FAR 103 Ultralight Vehicles rules as well as European regulations. It features a paraglider-style wing, single-place accommodation and a single 15 hp (11 kW) Per Il Volo Top 80 engine in pusher configuration with a 2.25:1 ratio reverse-turning gear box reduction drive and a 123 cm (48 in) diameter two-bladed wooden propeller. The fuel tank capacity is 7 litres (1.5 imp gal; 1.8 US gal). [1]

As is the case with all paramotors, take-off and landing is accomplished by foot. Inflight steering is accomplished via handles that actuate the canopy brakes, creating roll and yaw. [1]
