Jill Quek (born 30 August 1978) is a Singaporean former floorball player who played as a forward for the Singapore women's national team and is now a floorball coach. [1] She is the first Asian to be inducted to the International Floorball Federation's Hall of Fame. [2]

Career

Originally in-line and ice hockey player, Quek transitioned to floorball. [3] Quek joined Swedish club Örebro in 2000, to become the first Singaporean to play in the Scandinavian country. The year later, she and her younger sister Martha joined Hässelby. [2] She also played in Finland. [3]

Quek was a long-time player for the Singapore women's national team. She had 64 international appearances for Singapore and was part of the Singapore squad for seven World Floorball Championships prior to her retirement in 2017. [2] She considered retiring in 2009, but went on to play floorball for several years. Her only appearance in the Southeast Asian Games was in 2015 edition in Singapore when floorball was contested. [4]

By 2011, Quek was already serving as a full-time coach for Singaporean floorball players. [4]

On 5 December 2021, Quek was inducted to the International Floorball Federation's Hall of Fame. She was the first Asian inductee. [2]

Jing Junhong, also stylized as Jing Jun Hong, is a Chinese-born Singaporean former professional table tennis player. Born in Shanghai, she was a highly ranked player in China before she moved to Singapore with her husband, Singaporean table tennis player Loy Soo Han, whom she married in 1992. She represented Singapore in sporting events starting in the 1990s, and was naturalized as a Singaporean citizen in 1994. After retiring as a player, she served as deputy head coach, then as head coach, of the women's national table tennis team, before being reassigned to leading the country's table tennis youth development program in late 2015.

Geraldine Heaney is an Irish-Canadian ice hockey coach and former defenceman. She played 18 seasons and over 1,000 games with the Toronto Aeros organization, won six Ontario provincial championships and was named Ontario Women's Hockey Association (OWHA) most valuable defenceman on three occasions. The Aeros retired her jersey number 91 in 2006. Internationally, Heaney was a member of the Canadian national team in the first seven Women's World Championships, winning gold each time. She is a two-time Olympian, winning silver at the inaugural tournament in 1998 tournament, and gold in 2002. On June 14, 2022, she became the head coach of the Toronto Six of the Premier Hockey Federation.

Jill Hetherington-Hultquist is a Canadian former professional tennis player. She played college tennis for the University of Florida, and was women's tennis head coach at the University of Washington until May 2014.

Constance Singam is a Singaporean activist and writer. Singam's career as an activist started later in life, when she was widowed. She earned a degree and became active in women's rights group, AWARE, which she was president of for 3 separate terms. Singam was also involved in other groups in Singapore and later, wrote about her many experiences. Singam was inducted into the Singapore Women's Hall of Fame in 2015.

Jill McIntosh is a former Australia netball international and national team head coach. As a player, McIntosh was a member of the Australia team that won the gold medal at the 1983 World Netball Championships. She later coached Australia at the 1995 and 1999 World Netball Championships and at the 1998 and 2002 Commonwealth Games, guiding the team to four gold medals. In 2009 she was inducted into the Australian Netball Hall of Fame. McIntosh subsequently worked as a coach with the International Netball Federation, Central Pulse and with the national teams of Singapore, Northern Ireland and Jamaica.
