Pahokee High School is a historic school in Pahokee, Florida. It is currently located at 900 Larrimore Road. On November 15, 1996, The Old Pahokee High School building on E. Main St. was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It was designed by architect William Manly King. It has had a very successful football program and numerous NFL players have graduated from the school. It has a rivalry with Glades Central High School which also has a successful football program. The schools feature in Bryan Mealer's 2012 book Muck City.
Kenneth Othell Burrough was an American professional football player who was a wide receiver for the Houston Oilers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Texas Southern Tigers and was named second-team All-American in 1969.
William Marion Raines Senior High School is a historically black high school in Jacksonville, Florida, United States. The school is located off Moncrief Road in Jacksonville, Florida's northside at the corner Raines Avenue in northwest Jacksonville. Raines serves approximately 1000 students. The school is 97 percent African-American, 1 percent Hispanic, 1 percent Mixed and 1 percent Caucasian. The campus was improved in 1990 & 2002 to include a new science wing, field house and administrative wing.
The 1977 Chicago Bears season was their 58th regular season completed in the National Football League. The team finished with a 9–5 record, which was their first winning season since 1967 and earned them a wild card spot against the Dallas Cowboys, who eventually beat the Bears 37–7 en route to a Super Bowl victory. This was their first postseason appearance since winning the 1963 championship. They secured this by winning their last six games, including among others the last of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ record run of 26 consecutive losses.
Donald Edward Burroughs was an American professional football player who was a defensive back in the National Football League (NFL) for the Los Angeles Rams and the Philadelphia Eagles. He played college football as a quarterback at Colorado A&M, now known as Colorado State University. Burroughs was notable for his 6'5" height, an anomaly at the safety position.

He was drafted by the Bills in the first round of the 1985 NFL Draft with the 14th overall pick. He served two stints as the head football coach at Lane College, from 2010 to 2013 and 2015 to 2019.
John Leslie Burrough is a former American football defensive lineman in the National Football League (NFL). After playing college football at Washington State and Wyoming, Burrough was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the seventh round of the 1995 NFL Draft. He played seven seasons for the Falcons (1995–1998), Minnesota Vikings (1999–2000), and St. Louis Rams (2002).
