James Raymond Watkins (born October 21, 1956) is an American anchor and journalist. In 2014 Watkins joined News 8 WTNH-TV in New Haven Connecticut where he was until recently a news caster. [1] On August 19, 2015 Watkins left WTNH News 8.[ citation needed ]

Career

Watkins was previously employed by WPIX-TV from October 26, 1998 to October 9, 2011 where he was the weeknight anchor for PIX11 News at Ten for 11 years. . [2] During Watkins’ career as a New York City news anchor he also worked for WNBC-TV (weekends) and alongside WPIX's Kaity Tong for 14 years. [3] While working at WPIX, Watkins received three Emmy awards and an Edward R. Murrow Award for Broadcast Excellence. [4] [5]

Watkins was Tribune Broadcasting's lead anchor during the 9/11 live television coverage consecutively for 5 days. In 2014, his recollections of the tragedy, starting with the day before the World Trade Center attack, were featured in the NatGeo documentary “9/10: The Final Hours.” [6]

Watkins’ TV news career also included time at WPHL Philadelphia (anchor), the syndicated FOX Los Angeles “Entertainment Daily Journal” (correspondent), WBZ Boston's “Evening Magazine” (co-host), and WTVF-TV Nashville (anchor).

Every year, Jim Watkins hosts a television program at the Hispanic Day Parade, which occurs on the second Sunday of October. Watkins, a native of Ohio, was a former anchor and reporter from CBS affiliate WTVF in Nashville, Tennessee. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. [7] He writes columns for AM New York , a free weekday daily distributed in New York City. He also writes a blog for the television station's news program.

Personal life

Watkins is married and has three children, including a teenage son with autism. [8] Watkins is an autism advocate and has been a key note speaker at numerous autism benefits.

Good Day New York is a morning show airing on WNYW Fox 5, hosted by Rosanna Scotto and Lori Stokes. It is a Fox owned-and-operated television station in New York City, New York that is owned by the Fox Television Stations subsidiary of Fox Corporation. It was the first morning newscast to air on a Fox-owned station, having launched on August 1, 1988. The program broadcasts each weekday morning from 4:30 to 10 a.m. Eastern Time. The 4:30–7 a.m. portion is a general news/traffic/weather format. The 7-9 a.m. portion still features news, traffic and weather, but also incorporates entertainment news. Marysol Castro American journalist

Marysol Castro is a public address announcer at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets. She was also an American broadcast journalist who was employed as a news anchor at WPIX in New York, a weather forecaster for The Early Show on CBS in 2011 and a features correspondent for the weekend edition of Good Morning America on ABC from 2004 to 2010. In June 2015 Castro joined New Haven-based WTNH-TV to fill in for weekday morning traffic reports and anchor until mid-November 2015. In January 2019, Castro joined the booth of the Android and iOS app BallparkDJ making it possible for any youth softball or baseball team to be announced by her professional voice.

Chris Clark was the lead news anchor at WTVF (NewsChannel5) in Nashville, Tennessee. He had been a consistent anchor at the station since 1966, but retired on May 23, 2007 after 41 years, making him one of the longest-tenured anchors in American television history. In the earlier years of his tenure, Clark also served as the News Director.

Pickler & Ben was an American syndicated daytime talk show hosted by country singer Kellie Pickler and media personality Ben Aaron, focusing on lifestyle, beauty, celebrity and advertorial segments, along with the subjects of human interest stories. The series premiered on September 18, 2017. The series also had a "shop the show" feature that allowed viewers to buy featured items from HSN via the show's website and HSN.com. In March 2019, it was announced that Pickler & Ben was cancelled after two seasons. The final episode aired on May 22, 2019.
