Jody Vance (born August 23, 1967) is a Canadian sports anchor and former co-host of Breakfast Television (BT) on CKVU-DT in Vancouver. In 2000, she became the first woman in the history of Canadian television to host her own sports show in primetime.
Vance began her broadcast career in Vancouver, British Columbia, on CHRX, and then moved to CFMI-FM/CKNW as the assistant promotions director and on-air fill-in talent. In 1995, she was hired as a sports anchor at BCTV. [1]
After a short stint with BCTV, Vance helped launch the sports department at Vancouver Television.[ citation needed ] In the summer of 1999, she worked as a fill-in anchor for Sportsnet, a new Canadian sports network, and became the first woman to host the desk at the network.[ citation needed ] In March 2000, she moved to Toronto to host of its Sportscentral AM .[ citation needed ] After ratings increased, she was moved to the evening time slot, Sportscentral, on September 4, 2000, becoming the first woman in the history of Canadian television to host her own sports show in primetime. After leaving Sportsnet in 2005, [4] [5] Vance was lead anchor at Leafs TV, the Toronto Maple Leafs-owned hockey channel from 2006 to 2009. [6] Her final pregame was April 11, 2009, as the Leafs hosted the Ottawa Senators.[ citation needed ] In June 2009, Vance joined Shore 104 FM in Vancouver where she hosted an afternoon program called The Jody Vance Show. She also joined CBC Vancouver doing sports on top of her work at Shore 104.3 FM and hosted the Vancouver Canucks playoff post game show, "Seeking Stanley". [7]
In October 2011, Vance was hired away from radio and the CBC to host/news anchor BT for City, where she re-joined some of her former Sportsnet colleagues. [8] [9] She was featured on Sportsnet Pacific Vancouver Canucks broadcasts as a panelist during intermissions. [10] Vance was part of the on-air crew for the 2012 CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament at BC Place broadcast nationally on Sportsnet. [11] In May 2016, it was announced she was no longer with BT. [12]
In September 2017, Vancouver station Roundhouse Radio unveiled that Vance had been hired as its new midday host. [13]

Sportsnet is a Canadian English-language discretionary sports specialty channel owned by Rogers Sports & Media. It was established in 1998 as CTV Sportsnet, a joint venture between CTV, Liberty Media, and Rogers Media. Breakfast Television is a Canadian morning television program that is broadcast on Rogers Media's television network Citytv. As of 2023, BT only broadcast from Toronto as a four-hour morning show, while a national edition aired in 8:30-10 a.m. local time on all Citytv stations. Versions were formerly broadcast in Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Montreal, but have been canceled and replaced with alternative programming. The version broadcast by the Atlantic Satellite Network continued to use the brand under license from Rogers until 2011, when it was re-launched as CTV Morning Live upon the service's rebranding as CTV 2 Atlantic.

She was the former lead anchor for the New England Sports Network's SportsDesk news program and most recently the anchor on MLB Network. Mae grew up in Toronto and began her sports broadcasting career hosting a sports update show on campus at York University. Established in 2007, Canada's Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium was a joint venture set up by Canadian media companies Bell Media and Rogers Media to produce the Canadian broadcasts of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England, as well as the two corresponding Paralympic Games. Bell owned 80% of the joint venture, and Rogers owned 20%.
NHL on Sportsnet is the blanket title for presentations of the National Hockey League broadcast held by a Canadian media corporation, Rogers Communications, showing on its television channel Sportsnet and other networks owned by or affiliated with its Rogers Media division, as well as the Sportsnet Radio chain. Sportsnet previously held the national cable rights for NHL regular season and playoff games from 1998 to 2002. Tim & Friends is a sports talk show hosted by Tim Micallef. The show is broadcast by the Canadian sports television network Sportsnet. The program, originally known as Tim & Sid and hosted by Micallef and Sid Seixeiro, was established in 2011 as an afternoon radio show on CJCL. The program gained a television simulcast on The Score in 2013. On July 1, 2015, the program was re-launched on Sportsnet as a dedicated television program. On October 14, 2019, the Tim & Sid telecasts began simulcasting on CJCL, replacing Prime Time Sports as its late afternoon drive program. Seixeiro left the show in 2021, and the show was rebranded as Tim & Friends. During the summer of 2021, Tim & Friends stopped being simulcasted on CJCL and again became a dedicated television program.
On April 19, 2011, after ESPN, Turner Sports, and Fox Sports placed bids, NBC Sports announced it had reached a ten-year extension to its U.S. television contract with the NHL worth nearly $2 billion over the tenure of the contract. The contract would cover games on both NBC and sister cable channel Versus, which became part of the NBC Sports family as the result of Versus parent Comcast's controlling purchase of NBC Universal earlier in 2011.
